Club America will be aiming to pad their already comfortable lead atop the Liga MX table on Saturday when they play host Tigres UANL as slim -105 home favorites. The Eagles have stormed into first place while going undefeated in five straight outings, capped by a narrow 2-1 victory over Santo Laguna earlier this week.

Tigres aim to tally consecutive wins for the first time since mid-August as they prepare to hit the pitch as +290 underdogs. The club has managed to avoid defeat in five straight league contests but remains nine points back of America heading into the weekend.

Here’s a look at all the odds, trends, and best bets ahead of this Liga MX Round 15 clash, set for 8:00 pm ET on Saturday night at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City.

Club America Power Win Streak with Stingy Defense

Club America vies for a fourth straight victory as they face off against Tigres for the first time this season. The Eagles have been far from dominant offensively during their steady start, but have gotten things done on defense. America has allowed just one total goal during their current three-match win streak, and saw three of the eight total goals they have surrendered to date come in their lone defeat in league action, a 3-1 road loss to Toluca back on September 18.

Indeed, Club America have been virtually unbeatable on home turf so far in 2021, racking up a sparkling 14-2-0 win-draw-loss record in league play, and keeping clean sheets on eight occasions during that stretch. However, they have managed to score more than two goals just once during that stretch, a trend that should add value to the -160 odds favoring the total to go UNDER 2.5 on Saturday night.

Scoring has come at a premium for the Eagles, with just four players finding the back of the net on more than one occasion so far this season. Alvaro Fidalgo leads the way with four goals scored to date, but his match-opening goal in this week’s victory over Santos Laguna marks his only marker in six league outings since early September.

Tigres Bid to End Losing Streak vs America

Tigres will be aiming to build off a decisive 3-0 victory over Pachuca on Wednesday night when they take the pitch on Saturday as lengthy +290 underdogs. With the win, the club is now undefeated in six outings, but have claimed victory in just three of those contests, and five overall this season. That inconsistency has been a particular issue on the road, where the club has failed to tally consecutive wins while compiling a middling 3-2-2 record so far this season.

The club’s woes are related to their streaky offensive production. While Tigres lead the league in total goals scored, with 21 through 14 matches, they have been blanked on three occasions over their past six outings, a run that started with last month’s crushing 2-0 loss in Monterrey.

However, they have managed to score three times in two of their past four road outings, posting shutout wins over struggling opponents Mazatlan and Atletico San Luis. The challenge now facing Tigres is to rediscover that offensive touch against Club America, whom they lost four fallen to defeat to in four straight league matches, including a pair of visits in 2020. Look for America to maintain their recent dominance over Tigres with yet another low-scoring victory on home turf.

The Pick: Club America to win (-105); Under 2.5 (-160)
