Juventus (+110) vs. Lazio (+297), Draw (+258)

The Coppa Italia final was originally scheduled for early June, but it’s been pulled forward to May 17th in order to make way for Juventus’ Champions League final. Lazio and Juventus will meet at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome on Wednesday to contest the prestigious Italian league cup.

Juve slipped up against Roma in their last Serie A match, placing the title back within reach of Roma and Napoli. Manager Max Allegri decided to rest a few key players for the upcoming games and paid the price for it. But with only two league games to go, they should be able to claim their sixth consecutive title.

Juventus have won the league 32 times and have lifted the Coppa Italia 11 times — far more than any other Serie A club. But they’ve never managed the elusive treble: winning Serie A, Coppa Italia, and the Champions League in one season. This could be their chance.

The last six times these clubs played, Juventus emerged victorious. Moreover, in those six games, Lazio failed to score a single goal. Juve is arguably the best defensive side in the world right now and the Lazio attack pales in comparison.

Sami Khedira will most likely be unfit for the clash after he was injured in the Champions League semifinal. And even if he is deemed fit, Allegri may opt to rest him just to make sure he’s clear for the Champions League final. Other than Khedira, the Juve squad seems to be in good form.

Dani Alves has been an incredible addition to the Juventus this season and Gonzalo Higuaín has proved he is well worth his €90 million price tag. Many of the standout players of the season — Alex Sandro, Paulo Dybala, Miralem Pjanic — only joined the club in the last few years.

Lazio will have the home advantage, but I don’t think it will count for much. Lazio have a terrible head-to-head record against Juve, both at home and away. I Biancazzurri have done well to reach the finals, beating Roma and Inter Milan, but I don’t think they have what it takes to bring down the powerful Juventus.

Pick: Juventus (+110)
