The 2025 European Women’s Championship has been whittled down to pretournament-favorite Spain and reigning-champion England, who will meet at 12 pm ET on Sunday at St Jakob-Park in Basel, Switzerland, for the right to lift the trophy.
England has had its fair share of success against Spain in recent history, but oddsmakers still heavily favor the Spaniards to add a European title to a trophy case that already includes the most-recent World Cup (2023) and Nations League (2024).
England vs Spain Odds (Euro 2025)
Spain, which opened as a sizable -134 favorite on Wednesday, is now -138 chalk to win in 90 minutes. England has faded from +333 to +350, while a full-time remains at +280. The vig-free odds give Spain a 54.4% chance to win the title in regular time, with England at just 20.9% and the draw at 24.7%. The over/under remains at 2.5 goals with the over slightly favored at -118.

SPORTSBOOK
Only one of the last six meetings between England and Spain went over 2.5 goals in the first 90 minutes, but it was the most-recent: a 2-1 Spain victory in Catalonia during Nations League play on June 3rd.

Though England and Spain were both heavy favorites in the semifinals, both needed extra time to advance. England draw 1-1 with Italy as -175 favorites on the three-way moneyline, needing an equalizer from 19-year-old Michelle Agyemang in the sixth minute of second-half stoppage time just to force the extra period. Chloe Kelly scored the winner with one minute remaining in extra time, banging home her own rebound off a missed penalty.
All in all, it was an unconvincing performance from England against an Italian side they were expected to dominate.
Spain was held scoreless by Germany in a nil-nil 90-minute draw. But the Germans were lucky to force extra time, with Spain generating 1.58 xGF in the first 90 minutes, compared to just 0.74 xGF for Germany. Back-to-back Ballon d’Or-winner Aitana Bonmati scored a brilliant winner with seven minutes left in extra time to seal a deserved victory over the #3-ranked team in the world.
Projected Spain vs England Lineups
The main injury concern for England is forward Lauren James, who left the semifinal at halftime due to an ankle injury. She practiced in full on Saturday, but it may be safer for manager Sarina Wiegman to start Chloe Kelly in her place. Kelly has subbed on in all five Euro games so far, scoring one goal and one assist.
Spain’s regulars are fully healthy, according to all reports.
England vs Spain Picks & Predictions
- Under 2.5 (-106)
- Spain to win (-250)
Spain can look like an absolute freight train at times. Their four multi-goal wins to start the tournament – and accompanying +15 goal differential – were a prime example. The nil-nil draw with Germany was a bit of a step back; Germany actually outshot spain 8-5 (3-2 on target) in the second half. But on the whole Bonmati and company have played the part of tournament-favorite to a tee.
England, meanwhile, has been far less emphatic. They lost their first game of the tournament (2-1) to archrival France, and had to come from behind in both the quarterfinals – when they trailed Sweden 2-0 at halftime – and semifinal. Their defense has been woefully subpar, and that’s not a trait you can bring into a matchup with Spain.
You could say England has been playing with fire, but it would be more accurate to say that they’ve been battling an inferno that seems to have snuck up on them. The gap between England and Europe’s so-called second tier is nearly non-existent at this point.
Spain, on the other hand, is seen by many as the best team in the world, despite sitting second to the USWNT in the FIFA rankings. The Spanish quality will shine through and earn the country its first European title in the first 90 minutes.
