Premier League action proceeds this week starting on Tuesday with EPL Matchday 20. Liverpool has dropped back in the table after a shocking defeat to Burnley last Thursday, while both Manchester outfits are thriving. The Red Devils are just two points ahead of the Citizens in top spot, while Leicester City has continued to show well in third place.

Chelsea will be looking to break out of their dismal spell of form against Wolves on Wednesday as Frank Lampard’s Blues sit 11 points off the top currently.

Southampton vs Arsenal Prediction

After Southampton knocked out the Gunners in FA Cup action on Saturday, they will now get a chance to take down Mikel Arteta’s squad once again. The Saints are enjoying a very respectable campaign thus far, currently in tenth place and just four points from Tottenham, who are in fifth.

The partnership of Danny Ings and Che Adams is thriving up top, combining for 11 of their side’s 26 goals this term. Southampton has won just once in their last ten Premier League appearances against Arteta’s men though, which is certainly not a positive sign heading into this clash.

Arsenal has completely flipped the script over the last handful of fixtures. The North Londoners are unbeaten in their last five Premier League appearances, including a massive 3-1 victory over Chelsea on Boxing Day.

But after such a poor start, this side is still climbing their way up the table. This match against Southampton is very important for Arsenal as they can leapfrog their EPL Matchday 20 counterparts if three points are secured.

The visitors are starting to find their form and after getting knocked out of the same competition they won last season (FA Cup), the Gunners will be hungry for a victory here. Southampton’s seven victories in Premier League history against Arsenal have all came on home soil though. Nevertheless, I believe a draw is the safest bet.

Pick: Draw +240

Everton vs Leicester City Prediction

Everton welcomes Leicester City to Goodison Park on Wednesday in EPL Matchday 20. The Toffees are currently in sixth place and well in reaching distance of the top four. After starting off the season in breathtaking form, Carlo Ancelotti’s side dropped off for about five matches. However, they’re definitely back on track now, losing just once in their last seven league appearances.

During that span, Everton has beaten the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, and Leicester City, who they will be looking to complete the double against. The Toffees are also through to the fifth round of FA Cup after a convincing 3-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday.

Leicester is legitimately playing like title contenders right now. Brendan Rodgers’ men are right on the heels of both City and Man United, going unbeaten in their last eight fixtures, including five straight victories. The Foxes are also heading to the next round of the FA Cup after taking out Championship standouts Brentford on Sunday.

Leicester has also collected clean sheets in each of their last two league games, which included wins over Chelsea and Southampton. They took full advantage of a struggling Blues side last Tuesday, bagging two goals in the first half at King Power.

Everton will be hopeful they can replicate their last appearance against the Foxes, but it won’t be easy considering how dominant the visitors have been over the last month. Rodgers’ squad is also 7-1-1 on the road, while the Toffees have suffered three of their five defeats this term at Goodison. I’m going with Leicester here for a one-goal victory.

Pick: Leicester City to win by 1 +335

Tottenham vs Liverpool Prediction

The most high-profile match of EPL Matchday 20 will see Tottenham and Liverpool lock horns in North London on Thursday. Spurs will have the opportunity to secure points here in the reverse fixture, with the Reds winning 2-1 at Anfield back in December.

Jose Mourinho’s side will head into this clash on short rest though as they face Championship outfit Wycombe Wanderers in FA Cup on Monday. However, Tottenham will quickly realize the importance of this fixture against Liverpool which could move them ahead of the current title-holders in the table with a victory.

Watch out for the duo of Harry Kane and Heung-min Son, who have been on absolute fire this term. The Spurs’ attackers both have 12 goals to their names, while Kane also has a mind-boggling 11 assists. These two will be looking to wreak havoc on a Reds backline that has severely missed the presence of center-back Virgil van Dijk.

It’s been a couple of years since Liverpool has been in such distraught form. Jurgen Klopp’s men haven’t won in their last five EPL matches and were knocked out of the FA Cup by Manchester United on Sunday thanks to a firecracker of a free-kick from Bruno Fernandes. To top that off, they were also upset by Burnley last week, pushing them down to fourth in the standings.

The Reds have also netted just one goal in their last five league games. Their front three have been non-existent, but Mo Salah’s brace against United will be a positive sign heading into this meeting with Tottenham.

I have a hard time believing Liverpool can continue to play this poorly. Even with several injuries that have left their squad thin at times, they still have loads of quality. But, I don’t think a turn in form will happen just yet. This is going to be a hard-fought match with opportunities on both ends of the pitch, but each side will take away a point.

Pick: Draw +255
