While the international break can be somewhat of a frustration for club fans, it can be thrilling when something tangible is on the line. This Wednesday we are able to watch 15 World Cup qualifying games that will help qualify 13 different UEFA sides for the 2022 World Cup. The most anticipated matchup comes in Group F, featuring Denmark and Austria. After two matches, these sides are in first and second in their group, respectively, in what is a fairly open group with Scotland in third.

Elsewhere, Gareth Southgate’s English defense will have to keep an eye on Poland. The Three Lions are heavily favored in this match, but looked a little sloppy in their last run out against Albania, winning 2-0. Furthermore, Spain also have a must-win game against Kosovo in their third matchday. The 2010 World Cup winners drew in their first qualifier to Greece and need to stay on track in order to keep up with Sweden.

With 15 matches on the slate, there are sure to be some chalky picks with some heavy score lines for the favorites. Austria vs Denmark Prediction

The most highly anticipated World Cup Qualifier on Wednesday is most definitely between Austria and Denmark. It is surely the closest in terms of competition and I think everyone is excited to see what Denmark’s offense can do after sliding eight past Moldova. The more impressive stat about that game is that Denmark had six different goal scorers coming from the front line, midfield and defense.

Twenty year-old Mikkel Damsgaard looks like he could be a serious problem for Austria’s defense and he could be a major factor in this World Cup Qualifier. On the other hand, Austria have only lost one international outing this year, a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Romania in the Nations League. Historically these sides have met twice before and split their meetings with one win a piece. Both of these picks have great value, but after their last showing it is hard not to give the edge to Denmark in this match.

The next highlighted World Cup Qualifier is between England and Poland. England has won both their matches against San Marino and Albania during the international break, but have yet to really be challenged. Poland will not be their hardest test, but nor will they lie down and provide England with easy chances. Southgate has been rolling out a center back partnership of John Stones and Harry Maguire, which simply might not work against a functioning offense.

Robert Lewandowski has been ruled out of this World Cup Qualifier with a ligament problem, which devastates Poland’s attack. For this reason, England is an easy choice to win by a pair of goals.

Spain vs Kosovo Prediction

Lastly, Spain and Kosovo face off in their World Cup Qualifier, which is a must-win for Spain. The Spanish national team has taken a nosedive from where they have been in recent years and everybody is well aware of their lack of offense. However, their defense is an utter stronghold to put it lightly. In fact, they have not given up more than one goal in a match all year. So far, Spain drew 1-1 with Greece and just narrowly escaped with a 2-1 win over Georgia, scoring in the 92′ minute.

Despite Kosovo being the worst team in Spain’s group, (they’ve played just once, a 3-0 loss to Sweden), I think that this one could surprise some people and stay under 2.5 total goals.
