Norwich City will clinch England’s EFL Championship title if it beats Watford on Tuesday. At DraftKings, the oddsmakers rate Norwich as the favorite for a home win at +135 with Watford at +200. Meanwhile, the draw is an attractive prospect at +225 with kick-off for Norwich vs Watford at 1:00 pm ET.

Having already ensured that it will be promoted back to the Premier League at the first attempt, silverware and glory are now in sight.

However, Norwich must recover after their first defeat in 14 games against Bournemouth last weekend – with second-placed Watford eager to nail their own automatic promotion place in the coming weeks.

Automatic promotion to the EPL was confirmed for Norwich last Saturday despite their 3-1 setback at home against Bournemouth.

It was their first defeat in 14 games and the first at their Carrow Road HQ since last October.

That previous run was made up of 11 wins and two draws.

First Defeat in Nine for Watford

Watford also saw the end of a successful run last weekend as their 1-0 defeat by Luton Town was their first reverse in nine games.

But they are one of only five teams to beat Norwich in the league this season.

They were 1-0 winners at home against Norwich on December 26 in their first match under the command of Spanish coach Xisco Munoz.

He has subsequently overseen a run of 15 wins in 22 games which has transformed Watford from play-off hopefuls into automatic promotion contenders.

Eight points ahead of Watford with a tally of 90, Norwich has three more fixtures to claim the title if they fail to secure it on Tuesday.

They won the EFL Championship title in 2018-19 and now their highly-rated German coach Daniel Farke is seeking to lift the prize for a second time.

Meanwhile, Watford has 82 points and is six points ahead of Swansea City and eight points ahead of Brentford and Bournemouth.

Eight more points will clinch automatic promotion for Watford.

Indeed, a win against Norwich could claim an automatic promotion spot if results elsewhere fall their way.

They are seeking an instant return to the EPL after relegation last season.

Coach Xisco switched his side to a 4-3-3 formation at the end of February.

It proved to be a master-stroke as they subsequently went on a run of seven wins and one draw before the surprise defeat at Luton.

Further, they have the best defensive record in the competition after conceding only 28 goals – which adds to the idea that the draw is the most attractive offer here.

However, their record away from home should be better.

They have won seven times on the road while drawing eight games and losing six – the eighth-best statistics in the league.

They have been unbeaten at home since Derby County won 1-0 at Carrow Road on October 3.

Finnish striker Teemu Pukki could certainly be a key figure in this encounter.

After scoring 25 times for Norwich in the Championship this season, he has failed to hit the target in his last two outings – so is due a goal.

Goalscorer Sarr in Good Form

Watford’s leading marksman, meanwhile, is the much-coveted Senegalese forward Ismail Sarr who has12 Championship goals this campaign.

He has scored three times in his last four appearances.

Unhappily for Norwich, defender Dimitris Giannoulis was sent off against Bournemouth. Therefore, he is suspended for Tuesday’s game.

Meanwhile, Watford had Kiko Femenia was sent off against Luton so he, too, will be banned.

Striker Joao Pedro has failed to score in his last nine games for Watford but is expected to keep his place attack at Norwich.

Historically, Watford has the better recent record in this match-up.

They have 13 wins in the last 24 meetings. Meanwhile, Norwich has won nine times – with two matches drawn.

Before the 1-0 win by Watford against Norwich in December, their previous meeting came in the EPL in July 2020 – with Watford winning 2-1.

To sum up this time, though, the odds make the draw the best prospect here as Watford will fight hard for at least a point in its bid to join Norwich as automatic promotion winners.

Pick: Draw +225
