Leicester City vs Chelsea Prediction

This season has been a slow-burner for the Foxes who find themselves down in 12th with a 4-3-4 record. They still, however, have ambitions to match, even improve upon, last season’s fifth-place and with the current gap to fourth-placed Liverpool just seven points they will believe it to be achievable. Last time out, just prior to the international break, they grabbed a point in a 1-1 draw away at Leeds thanks to a goal from Harvey Barnes.

Thomas Tuchel’s Blues will be looking for the win to retain top spot but the German may be without Romelu Lukaku, Timo Werner, and Mateo Kovacic, all of whom are considered doubtful. Traditionally, the first game back after the international break is a tricky one for the big teams whose players will have traveled far and wide over the two-week break from league action.

While Chelsea starts as odds-on favorite, this may not be a bad time for Leicester to play them, especially if Lukaku does not make it. Therefore the draw is worth considering here although that the Foxes will need a Jonny Evans-led defense to keep things tight early on. If they can, consider the low-scoring draw.

Picks: Leicester and Chelsea to draw (+280)

Wolves vs West Ham United Prediction

Wolves have made an underwhelming start to the campaign under new boss Bruno Lage but rallied well in October and are now up to eighth-place with a 5-1-5 record. They did however suffer disappointment last time out when losing 2-0 at Crystal Palace and will be hoping the two-week break will enable them to clear their heads and return to winning ways against West Ham.

The Hammers are in great shape though and went into the international break off the back of an outstanding 3-2 home win over Liverpool. It was a win that extended their winning run to four on the spin and took them up to third. With Jamaican international Michail Antonio in outstanding form – he also scored for Jamaica at the weekend – Wolves will be stretched and tested defensively.

The Eastenders start this one as favorites but are still in plus money, so are well worth considering for that reason alone. Much will depend on how Wolves react to the disappointment at Selhurst Park, and I believe in this instance the two-week league hiatus will have worked in their favor. If they can keep Antonio quiet, I can see Wolves sneaking a surprise win here. They certainly have enough quality.

Pick: Wolves to win  (+205)

Newcastle United vs Brentford Prediction

The Magpies may have super-rich new owners and a new manager in Eddie Howe but are currently the only team in the EPL without a win. Howe will be welcomed with open arms by the Toon faithful, who gave former manager Steve Bruce a very tough ride, but will have to work with the current squad until he can spend big in January. A win for them is a must.

The Bees made an outstanding start to life in the Premier League, picking up 12 points from their first seven games, but have hit a wall and now lost four on the bounce. Just before the break, they lost 2-1 at home to bottom-placed Norwich City, so are currently bottom of the form table. They could well be the perfect opponents for the win-less Toon.

With Newcastle still in plus money, the value is right there. With a noisy St James’ Park ready to welcome their new boss, this looks nailed on for a home win.

Pick: Newcastle to win (+165)
