Norwich City vs Aston Villa Prediction

The Canaries are currently bottom of the table but the arrival of Dean Smith as head coach (to replace Daniel Farke) has had a positive impact on their performance level.

While they lost 1-0 to Manchester United at the weekend – courtesy of a Cristiano Ronaldo penalty – City played well and were unlucky to not earn at least a point, despite them currently being in the middle of a full-on injury/Covid crisis.

Villa, who ironically replaced Dean Smith with Steven Gerrard as head coach in mid-November, has also benefited from new-manager-bounce and were unlucky to lose 1-0 against Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday. Three wins in Gerrard’s first five games have given the Villans a huge boost and lifted them to 13th in the table, but they will be hoping to add further distance between themselves and the bottom three – a gap that’s currently just eight points.

Villa will be confident of the win – as tends to be the case with all visiting teams at Carrow Road – but Norwich is a harder team to beat now, and if they can find a level of performance like Saturday’s they could spring a surprise. With a chance to more than double your money at +235, the value here is with the City win.

Picks: Norwich to win  (+235)

Arsenal vs West Ham United Prediction

The London derbies come thick and fast for West Ham, who only ten days ago beat Chelsea 3-2 in dramatic fashion at the London Stadium. The Hammers were left disappointed at the weekend, however, when drawing 0-0 at Burnley; a result that left them in fourth but eight points adrift of third-placed Chelsea. A run of one win in five for West Ham has come at a bad time.

Arsenal, meanwhile, is on an upward curve and up to eighth after an emphatic 3-0 win at the weekend over Southampton. The Gunners are now only two points behind West Ham and a win would a win here would see them leapfrog their opponents in the table. All is not 100-percent harmonious behind-the-scenes at the Emirates though, and manager Mikel Arteta announced on Tuesday that he has removed the captaincy from Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang for off-field indiscipline.

Much will depend on how off-field matters have affected the Gunners on the pitch, but they will still be confident after Saturday’s impressive win. West Ham is not fourth in the table by accident though, and there is a resilience about the Hammers under David Moyse that has not always been evident. For me, the +260 on offer for the draw is worth considering given how well matched these two teams are.

Pick: Arsenal and West Ham to draw  (+260)

Leicester City vs Tottenham Hotspur Prediction

The Foxes will be looking here to build on a crushing 4-0 home victory over Newcastle at the weekend – a win that took them up to eighth in the table – but it has generally been an underwhelming campaign so far for Brendan Rodgers’ men. After only narrowly missing out of Champions League soccer last season, the next logical step was to go one better and gatecrash the top four, but it hasn’t happened.

Spurs had a slow start to the campaign – one that resulted in the sacking of coach Nuno Espírito Santo – but have found some form and come into this game off the back of three consecutive league wins.

New Spurs manager, Antonio Conte is starting to get the best out of a talented squad and they will be fresh and well-rested coming into this game after having had their two most recent games canceled due to a COVID-19 outbreak at the club. Leicester surprisingly for me starts this as favorites, so it goes without saying that the value here is very much with the away win.

Pick: Tottenham to win (+245)
