Real Betis vs Barcelona Over/Under and Spread

The oddsmakers are anticipating a comfortable Barca win with under 2.5 goals offered at evens. The over is on offer at an also very reasonable -120.

Real Betis vs Barcelona Preview

Real Betis ended a recent blip with a timely 1-0 home win over Getafe at the weekend, with the only goal of a very tight game coming in the 86th minute from a Borja Iglesias penalty. While it was a far-from-perfect performance it was a vital win for Manuel Pellegrini’s men who have won just three of their last nine games in La Liga.

The win lifted Betis to sixth, which would earn them a place in next season’s Europa Conference League, but they are very much in the hunt for the Champions League places – just four points adrift of fourth-place Atletico Madrid.

Just One Win in Seven Against Barca for Betis

Betis’ recent record against Barca is unsurprisingly not a good one, having lost seven of their eight last encounters during which time they have conceded three or more goals on six occasions. Their most recent win over Barca came in December 2021 when they won 1-0 in the Camp Nou.

Their most recent encounter came three weeks ago in the Spanish Super Cup semi-final when they were tied 2-2 after 120 minutes, with Barca eventually winning 4-2 on penalties.

Barca Unbeaten in 13

Barca are on an unbeaten run that has run for 13 games and includes, most recently, eight consecutive victories. They haven’t lost a game since way back in October when they were beaten 3-0 at home by Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

At the weekend, they were not at their best but came away from a tricky-looking clash with Girona with a 1-0 win – the goal coming in the second half from substitute, Pedri. With Real Madrid dropping points in their home game with Real Sociedad – it ended goalless – Barca opened up a five-point gap at the top of La Liga.

Xavi’s Defense Has Conceded Six… All Season!

While Xavi’s Barca squad is one that contains an array of attacking talent, it’s their defense that has been the backbone of this fine run with them keeping a staggering 14 clean sheets in their 18 games. They have only conceded six league goals all season, and three of them came when losing October’s El Clasico.

To make this an even bigger task for Betis, Barca’s recent record at the Estadio Benito Villamarín is outstanding – winning eight of their last ten in all competitions, including five consecutively in La Liga.

Real Betis vs Barcelona Team Lineups and Injuries

Real Betis Projected Lineup: Silva, Sabaly, Pezzella, Felipe, Miranda, Rodriguez, Carvalho, Henrique, Fekir, Rodri, Iglesias.

Injuries & absences: Cruz.

Barcelona Projected Lineup: Ter Stegen, Kounde, Araujo, Christensen, Alba, Gavi, De Jong, Pedri, Raphinha, Lewandowski, Torres.

Injuries & absences: Dembele.

Real Betis vs Barcelona Prediction

Barca look unstoppable right now and, while this has been a decent season for Betis, their poor home form against the Catalans doesn’t bode well for them.

The away win at -155 looks good value, as does the under 2.5 goals at +100, with Barca being kings of the 1-0 of late.

Picks: Barcelona to win (-155) / Under 2.5 goals (+100)
