Italy’s top-flight returns this weekend, with Coronavirus fears postponing numerous matches over the last two weeks. All fixtures will be played in empty stadiums until April 3rd so the country can get the virus under control.

Meanwhile, Lazio is currently in first place with 62 points, however, Juventus have a game in hand, while Inter Milan has two. Conte’s side currently has 54 points, but two wins can put them right back in the title race, especially if Atalanta can grab points from Lazio this weekend.

Odds taken Mar. 4

Pick 1: Atalanta vs Lazio

The two most electric attacking sides in Serie A will meet on Saturday in which should be a very entertaining fixture. Both Atalanta and Lazio are unbeaten in their last five league matches, drawing just once in the process. Given that these two teams are in wonderful form right now, it will be very interesting to see who comes out on top.

Atalanta is actually the slight favorite right now at +108, while Simone Inzaghi’s men have a moneyline of +215. Atalanta leads Italy with a mind-boggling 70 goals scored this year, while Lazio is second with 60. Their last meeting on October 19th was a high-scoring affair, playing to a 3-3 draw.

Given how consistent these two are in the final third, expect it to be a high-scoring affair again. However, I believe Lazio will come out victorious and increase their lead in top spot, with Serie A leading scorer Ciro Immobile bagging his 28th of the season.

Pick: Lazio +215

Pick 2: Inter Milan vs Sassuolo

Inter haven’t played a league match since February 16th, when Lazio defeated them 2-1. They had two Europa League fixtures since, but they also saw their Coppa Italia clash with Napoli canceled on Thursday because of Coronavirus complications. Their lack of league competition shouldn’t hurt them this weekend though when they welcome 12th-place Sassuolo to the San Siro.

The last meeting between these two in October was an absolute dogfight, with Inter just sneaking out with a 4-3 victory. However, Sassuolo strung together more passes than Inter and also had more possession.

I don’t expect this time around to be as high-scoring, but Inter should once again secure a crucial three points at home as they continue to chase Juventus and Lazio in the title race.

Pick: Inter -303

Pick 3: SPAL vs Cagliari

Both sides enter this clash in dismal form. Cagliari is winless in their last five matches, while last-place SPAL hasn’t won since January 20th when they upset Atalanta by a score of 2-1. Cagliari managed to grab a couple of points before their recent losing skid, tying Inter and Parma before three straight defeats. They currently have 32 points in 11th place, just three off eighth spot Verona.

SPAL is having a dreadful year, winning just four times all season. It’s a foregone conclusion that they’re getting relegated at this point, but a positive result this weekend could help them climb up from the bottom spot. However, Cagliari took care of business against them in late October, beating them 2-0.

Even though both teams aren’t in the best of form, I expect Rolando Maran’s squad to take away three points against SPAL on Saturday.

Pick: Cagliari +165
