Venezuela vs Uruguay Prediction

The Venezuelans welcome Uruguay to Caracas on Tuesday. Jose Peseiro’s men desperately need a result after collecting just three points through their first five games. They suffered a disappointing defeat last Thursday against Bolivia, which has left their hopes at qualifying for the World Cup extremely thin.

Venezuela conceded an early opener to the hosts but ended up equalizing in the 26th minute after center-back Jhon Chancellor found the back of the net. Ultimately, La Vinotinto allowed two more goals in the last 30 minutes in the 3-1 loss.

Uruguay played to a scoreless draw with Paraguay last week, but they still sit in fifth place with seven points in five appearances. Previously, Brazil beat them back in November.

After progressing all the way to the quarterfinals of the 2018 World Cup in Russia, the Uruguayans are still a favorite to qualify for next year’s tournament with Luis Suarez leading the line.

There’s frankly just a lot more quality in Uruguay’s squad and with Venezuela struggling right now, the visitors are a safe bet for a two-goal victory.

Pick: Uruguay to Win by 2 (+440)

Colombia vs Argentina Prediction

Colombia welcomes Argentina to its homeland for a vital clash. The hosts haven’t looked too sharp thus far, sitting in sixth place with only five points to show for. Reinaldo Rueda’s side has also conceded 11 times; one of the highest totals in the tournament.

However, they are coming off an impressive 3-0 victory over Peru. The attacking flair was on full display, with the Colombians bagging three goals in a span of just 15 minutes.

The very talented Argentinians are unbeaten in five games, but they lacked finishing in a 1-1 draw with Chile in their last fixture. Messi netted from the spot early in the first half, but Alexis Sanchez responded with an equalizer just 12 minutes later. Despite a total of 17 shots and seven on target, Lionel Scaloni’s squad couldn’t find a winner.

Surprisingly, goals have been few and far between for La Albiceleste, netting just seven times. They’ve been rock solid at the back though, conceding three.

The Colombians have lost four of their last five meetings with Argentina. The hosts are coming off a terrific showing though, while their opponents are not. But, with Messi on the pitch, anything is possible. A draw is a good bet here, with both teams scoring.

Pick: Draw &  Both Teams to Score +350

Paraguay vs Brazil Prediction

The Paraguayans face an extremely daunting task on Tuesday as they lock horns with table-toppers Brazil. The hosts are actually in a respectable position at this point, having drawn four times and winning once.

Paraguay was outplayed by Uruguay last week but managed to hold the 2018 World Cup quarterfinalists to a draw which put them in fourth spot. Their lone victory in the tournament thus far came back in October where Eduardo Berizzo’s men beat Venezuela. Along the way, La Albirroja has tied the likes of Argentina and Peru as well.

The Brazilians, by no surprise, have been the class of South America early on in qualifying. Tite’s side has run riot on all their opponents, scoring more goals than any other team in the competition.

Last Friday was another convincing victory for Seleção, with Everton standout Richarlison firing home a left-footed strike mid-way through the second half. Neymar then sealed the three points during injury time from the penalty spot. The PSG star has bagged four goals, which is second to only Bolivia’s Marcelo Moreno, who has netted five.

Brazil has looked far too dominant to bet against, especially with an opponent like Paraguay who isn’t very strong on the international stage. While there’s not a whole lot of value in the Moneyline, the visitors have been very stable at the back. The Brazilians will keep a clean sheet here.

Pick: Brazil to Win Nil (+143)
