The 2026 World Cup is just 100 days away. The final six teams in the expanded 48-team field will be determined by the end of the month. A number of FIFA heavyweights still have plenty of work to do to earn a berth, including Italy (ranked 13th in the world), Denmark (21st), Turkey (25th), and Ukraine (30th).
Betting data provided by theScore Bet shows that the public isn’t just hammering chalk in the World Cup futures. Below, I have set out the latest World Cup odds at theScore Bet, followed by betting splits for (a) tournament winner, (b) top scorer, and (c) group winners.

World Cup Champion Betting Splits
The Seleção are attracting nearly a quarter of the money bet on the World Cup-winner market, and that 24.4% of handle has come on just 7.9% of wagers, meaning – on average – the best on Brazil to win are way bigger than the wagers on any other team.
Spain is second in terms of handle (15.9%) and first by a mile in terms of bestsat 18.5%. France has the second-most wagers at just 12.3%.
The only true longshot in the top-ten most-bet teams is host USA, which has attracted 2.2% of handle on 3.6% of wagers. The USMNT has one third-place World Cup finish on its resume but that came all the way back in 1930, the first edition. They have reached the quarterfinals just once in the interim (Japan/Korea 2002). They were bounced by Brazil (1-0) in the Round of 16 the last time the World Cup was on home soil (1994).
World Cup Top Scorer Betting Splits
The Golden Boot betting splits are a fascinating mix of longshots and chalk. Real Sociedad star Mikel Oyarzabal, who projects to plays as the number 9 for tournament-favorite Spain, is getting a massive 22.8% of handle on just 9.5% of wagers.
The 28-year-old Oyarzabal was on fire in qualifying, tallying six goals (or four assists) in six matches from September to November of last year. He also had four goals (and two assists) in eight Nations League during the 2024-25 season. Domestically, he has ten goals in 23 matches for Sociedad, though he’ll have considerably better service on the national team.
Kylian Mbappe, who has 12 goals in 14 career World Cup matches, is the outright favorite. He was the top scorer at Qatar 2022 with eight goals in just seven matches.
The last table sets out the latest group-winner odds for all 12 quartets. The team getting the largest percentage of betting handle to win the group is bolded. Percentages will be added when they become available.
World Cup Group Winner Odds & Splits
Teams in BOLD are currently the largest share of betting handle to win the group. If no team is bolded, then data is not yet available.
