Bayer is coming off a huge Champions League group-stage victory on Wednesday, upsetting Atletico Madrid, 2-1.

Kai Havertz and company will look to build off that  win and break Wolfsburg’s twelve-game unbeaten streak at home, which is the longest of any current Bundesliga side.

Leverkusen has had no issue finding the back of the net against Wolfsburg, scoring in 33 consecutive fixtures against the Wolves.

Wolfsburg Have Struggled to Score

Despite sitting in the top ten of the Bundesliga, the Wolves have struggled to score this year, netting just 11 goals in ten league matches. To put it into perspective, the two highest-scoring sides in Germany are Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig, who have both snagged 25 goals apiece this term. Of the eleven goals the Wolves have scored this year, Dutch striker Wout Weghorst has five of them.

Although Wolfsburg’s attack hasn’t been the most productive, they have been solid at preventing their opponents from scoring in league play, conceding just eight goals, which is the least of any team in the Bundesliga.

They’re winless in their last six matches throughout all competitions, though, including a 3-1 defeat on Thursday against Gent in Europa League action. The Wolves were outscored by Dortmund and RB Leipzig in league and cup play 9-1 last week, so Oliver Glasner’s side will be looking for a bounceback win that could take them into the top four.

Leverkusen Looks to Build Off UCL Win

Leverkusen has struggled this year in several aspects, but their upset of Atletico Madrid mid-week in Champions League play should give them some much-needed momentum heading into this weekend’s clash in Wolfsburg.

German sensation Kai Havertz has scored twice in the last three fixtures against Wolfsburg and will look to keep that trend going this weekend. One of the most exciting young talents in Europe, Havertz has set up 24 shots on net this season, which is third in the Bundesliga.

Leverkusen has scored 15 goals this season but conceded just as many. They will be looking to contain Wolfsburg’s in-form striker, Weghorst, who has been deadly in the final third this season.

A lot of that work will be up to Leverkusen’s German international Jonathan Tah.  Lucas Alario will be a player to watch as well for Leverkusen, having scored 20 goals since the 2017/18 campaign.

Prediction

Given Wolfsburg’s ability to keep opponents out of their net and Leverkusen’s attacking threats, this fixture should be a very entertaining one. Leverkusen has been in impressive form as of late and Wolfsburg has struggled to secure three points, so expect Peter Bosz’s side to come out on top in this matchday 11 Bundesliga fixture.

Pick: 2-1 Leverkusen
