It all comes down to this – the top two seeds in the women’s side duking it out to be crowned champion at Roland Garros. In the semis, Aryna Sabalenka fended off three-time defending champ Iga Swiatek. Gauff handily took care of the Cinderella story in Lois Boisson, who was the first women’s wild card to reach the semis in the Open era.

Action gets underway Saturday, June 7th, at 9am ET from Court Philippe-Chatrier in Paris, France, with TNT Sports, HBO Max, and truTV providing the broadcast coverage in the United States, and TSN in Canada.

Aryna Sabalenka has lost just one set in the entire tournament, which was to Iga Swiatek in the semis. After dropping the second set to head to a deciding third, the Belarusian proved her mettle, blanking her adversary 6-0 to make the final. That was a huge triumph, considering Swiatek had won three French Opens in a row and four of five.

Sabalenka has three grand slams to her credit, the 2023 and 2024 Australian Opens, and 2024 US Open. This marks Sabalenka’s third straight final at a major. She’s never won the French, however, with this her first appearance past the semi-final.

These two have squared off ten times in their careers, with each winning on five occasions. However, Sabalenka has taken three of the last four. The match before that, in 2023, the American got the better of the Belarusian, winning the US Open in three sets. Sabalenka has been strong on dirt this year, going 18-and-2.

In this tournament, Gauff was only pushed to the limit once, with Madison Keys taking a set off her in the quarters. She showed resolve after dropping that opening salvo, taking the last two sets 6-4, 6-1.

Gauff has been oh-so-close this year on clay, getting to the final at both Madrid and Rome, hoping third time is the charm in the French Open final. Her elite defense could neutralize Sabalenka’s speed, and because she had a relative breeze in the semis, the American will be a bit fresher.

The total games has been set at 21.5, with the over slightly favored at -120 at FanDuel. Sabalenka is -205 on the moneyline, an implied probability of 67.21%. Contrast that to her competitor, Gauff, at +168, which is 37.31%.

Sabalenka has already won three titles and reached three other finals this year. She’s now the first woman to reach the singles final in three consecutive Grand Slam events (2024 US Open, 2025 Australian Open, and 2025 French Open) since Serena Williams in 2016. The 21-year-old Gauff is the youngest player to claim 70 Grand Slam singles wins in her career since Maria Sharapova in 2007.

In eight of their ten all-time battles, the two have combined to go over the 21.5 total games, which presents that as the intriguing option to me, as opposed to picking a straight-up winner.
