The two remaining Americans duel as World No. 6 Jessica Pegula takes on No. 4 Amanda Anisimova for the final semifinal spot at the 2026 Australian Open. Neither woman has made the semifinals at the Aussie, but they have been in good form at Grand Slams, each making the semifinals at the 2025 US Open.
Pegula vs Anisimova is scheduled for 9:00 ET on Tuesday night (1:00 pm local time, Wednesday afternoon) in Rod Laver Arena.
Anisimova is favored, and she opened the quarterfinals fourth in title chances in the Australian Open odds.
Pegula vs Anisimova Odds: Best Lines

Pegula vs Anisimova Predictions
With hardly anything separating these players, I see the value in the plus-money Pegula. Alternatively, you could bet Anisimova to win in straight sets for plus money, but I will take my chances with Pegula.
Pegula has been in fine form in Melbourne, particularly in her showcase outing against fellow top-10 American Madiso Keys. Asinimova has also played well, but she has yet to face a player as sturdy at Pegula.
That said, I do like this match to go the distance. Neither woman has dropped a set yet in this tournament, so perhaps both do, and we get an exciting close to the Aussie quarters.
Pegula vs Anisimova Stats
Two of the best players in the world, Anisimova is just a smidge better ranked, both by the WTA and Elo ratings. Her service game has been slightly sharper this year, and her return game has been a bit better. However, the metrics are close enough that they could flip by the end of the tournament.
Both women have clinical serves, winning over 70% of service games, well above the tour average. Anisimova is a tick better at saving break points while Pegula has the advantage on second serves.
In the return game, Anisimova has converted half of her break points while Pegula has converted under 40%. One trend (albeit a small sample size for Anisimova) to watch is Anisimova’s dynamism on second returns. She has won two-thirds of second return points, while Pegula is a tick below the average at 52.5%
Elo ratings are sourced from Tennis Abstract.
Pegula’s Path to the Quarterfinals
Pegula has clobbered everyone in her path to this point, not even being forced to a seventh point in any of her eight sets. In her most recent outing, she dispatched World No.9 Madison Keys in straight sets.
Anisimova’s Path to the Quarterfinals
Anisimova has also yet to lose a set in Melbourne, but she did have a tough matchup with Wang Xinyu, winning a tiebreaker in the first set and a 6-4 second set. With Anisimova’s excellent seeding heading into the tournament, she has yet to face a ranked player.
Previous Australian Open Performances
This is Pegula’s fourth trip to the Australian Open quarterfinals. While she is 0-3 in those, she has broken through in her last two Grand Slam quarterfinals, winning in the 2024 and 2025 US Open. The Aussie has been Pegula’s second-best Grand Slam. She entered play with a 71% win rate, just short of her 72% at the US Open.
This has been Anisimova’s best finish at the Australian Open after previously having lost in the fourth round on three separate occasions. With a win, Anisimova would advance to her fourth career Grand Slam semifinal. While she has yet to win a Grand Slam, she was runner-up in both the 2025 Wimbledon and 2025 US Open.
Pegula vs Anisimova: H2H Results
Pegula has had the clear advantage against Anisimova, winning all three previous encounters. Pegula is 2-0 on hard courts against Anisimova, winning in straight sets back in a US Open tune-up match in 2020, as well as in Toronto in 2024.
