The stage has been set for the final four, and Bautista Agut and Rublev will be competing in the second and final semifinal match of the day on Saturday, scheduled for 9:30am ET at Owl Arena in Halle, Germany.
You could say that these two know each other quite well, with their match history dating back to 2015.

You shouldn’t be surprised at these odds above, it does make sense that Rublev would be only the slight favorite heading into this match. It should be pretty even. So let’s discuss where the best bet is.

Bautista Agut Upsets Daniil Medvedev
The Spaniard put on a masterclass earlier today when he defeated the defending champion and No. 1 seed Medvedev 7-5, 7(7)-6(3), to earn a spot in the semifinals.
Medvedev was the favorite and expected to win heading into the match, as the Russian leads the ATP Tour with the most wins this year, holding a 41-9 record on the season. But Bautista Agut managed to figure out away to win against the World No.1. The Spaniard managed to do this by providing more variety in his game, and causing Medvedev to be on his heels on the baseline.
Roberto Bautista Agut after getting 1st Top 10 win since January against Daniil Medvedev:
"I didn't feel very good some months this year but I kept working hard. I know tennis sometimes is very difficult. Today I showed that I've been working hard.. I'm very happy." 🥹 pic.twitter.com/XfGPAtjf92

Bautista Agut can hit the ball quite flat, and the grass surface will really play to that. Many have always thought of him as someone who is successful on clay, but he has played well on grass for may years, and can easily find success on this surface.
Struggling Rublev?
Despite earning a spot in the semifinals here at the Halle Open, it was a bit of a struggle for Rublev to get to the final four.
On paper, the 25-year old has faced opponents that should’ve led to very manageable wins, but they have been anything by that. His first match of the tournament went to three sets, his second match was extremely close, and he found himself dropping his first set of his quarterfinal match, putting himself in a must win position.
Andrey Rublev on facing Roberto Bautista Agut in Halle:
“Last time he beat me. We’ll see. Robert is a machine. He can play rallies all day if he needs to. He runs really good. He feels the grass really well. Today he beat Daniil. I don’t know what to say. We’ll see tomorrow” pic.twitter.com/9rdN9w86ql

He’s such a good player that he can power-through pretty much anything, and truly over the past three matches, he’s just muscled his way through. The World No. 7, and 2021 finalist defeated Tallon Greikspoor 3-6, 6-3, 6-4, to book his spot in the semis. But if he wants to continue on, he’s going to have to tighten his game up a bit.
Split Record
This will be the ninth meeting between these two players, and their current head-to-head is split 4-4. Their first meeting came way back in 2015, and their last one happened at the begging of this year in Adelaide, Australia.
They have never faced each other on grass.

Bautista Agut vs Rublev Prediction
Bautista Agut is definitely playing better than Rublev in this tournament, but overall Rublev is the more solid player.
With the way Bautista Agut is playing, I wouldn’t be surprised if he catches Rublev off guard, and manages to take the match. But the safer bet would be to bet on the distance of the match, here, as it could really go either way.
