Odds as of September 3rd at DraftKings

[10] Petra Kvitova vs [17] Maria Sakkari Prediction

These two are no stranger to one another, as this will be the sixth meeting between the two players. Kvitova currently leads the head-to-head record 3-2, and won their most recent meeting earlier this year at the Stuttgart Open, winning in three sets. Despite having played each other five times prior, this will be their first meeting at The US Open.

This is sure to be an exciting third round match on Saturday, as both players have been on a tear in New York. Kvitova and Sakkari both enter the match having yet to drop a set, as they are both hoping for a deep run at the Grand Slam.

Kvitova had a much better showing leading up to the Grand Slam, versus Sakkari who found herself knocked out of the Cincinnati Masters in the first round.

Neither player has truly been tested at the tournament yet. Kvitova had a tougher second round opponent in Karolina Pliskova than Sakkari did when she faced Katerina Siniakova.

When it comes to these two facing off against one another, there’s no denying Sakkari’s strength, but she’s been struggling a bit with her serve. Kvitova has always been an all around great player, and she continues to show that in New York.

Regardless of the winner here, it looks like this match might go the distance.

Best Bet: Over 2.5 sets (+145)

[28] Anett Kontaveit vs [7] Iga Swiatek Prediction

Kontaveit and Swiatek will meet in the third round of a Grand Slam for the second time this year. The two met earlier this year at the French Open where Siwatek won in straight sets. This will be the fourth meeting between the two, with Kontaveit leading the head-to-head record 2-1.

With a win over Swiatek, Kontaveit will have tied her US Open career-best showing. The Estonian has been playing lights out at the tournament so far, not dropping a set, and is coming off a 6-4, 6-1 win over Jil Teichmann.

Swiatek staged a comeback in her second round match after losing the first set, and being down a break. In the decider, Swiatek left no room for her opponent as she finished it off with a 6-0 third set.

We know Swiatek can dominate on clay, but she hasn’t been playing her best here on the quick hard courts. But then again, she’s coming off an amazing comeback heading into the match.

Once again, regardless of the winner here, neither player is going to go down easy.

Best Bet: Over 2.5 (+145)

Sara Sorribes Tormo vs Emma Raducanu Prediction

It’s not surprise that this is the first career meeting between these two players.

Sorribes Tormo will look to be Raducanu’s biggest test of the tournament. But the 18-year old now has five matches under her belt with the qualifiers, and has yet to drop a set. In her most recent match, she went on to defeat Zhang Shuai 6-2, 6-4, while recording 24 winners to just 11 unforced errors.

It’s safe to say that Raducanu is making quite the name for herself in her debut at The US Open.

Sorribes Tormo on the other hand is also having her best Grand Slam showing as she earned her spot in the third round. She most recently defeated Hsieh Su-wei, and much like her third round opponent, has yet to drop at set this tournament as well.

The Spaniard brings much more experience to the match, but there’s something about Raducanu and what she’s done already here in New York that makes this interesting. Even if she doesn’t come out with the win, she might be able to steal a set.

Best Bet: Over 2.5 sets (+145)
