Both in search of their first Women’s College World Series title in school history, the #6 Texas Longhorns (54-11) will meet the #12 Texas Tech Red Raiders (53-12) in a best-of-three series starting Wednesday, June 4th, at Devon Park in Oklahoma City.
Only two sportsbooks have posted odds on the WCWS so far, and the discrepancy in their prices is amazing. The Longhorns come in as sizable favorites at one site (see table, below), while the other lists the series as a pick’em. win the national championship. The Red Raiders stopped Oklahoma’s bid for a fifth straight title in the semifinals on Tuesday.
Texas Tech vs Texas Odds for WCWS
The Longhorns have opened as -225 favorites at ESPN Bet, giving Texas a 69.23% implied win probability, with the Red Raiders coming back as +165 underdogs, which amounts to a 37.74% implied win probability. Extracting the juice, the true implied win probability (based on the ESPN odds) is 64.72% to 35.28% in Texas’ favor. But the series price at DraftKings is literally a pick’em (-110 both ways), which of course gives each team a 50% true implied win probability (52.38% with the juice).

Texas enters the WCWS on a five-game win streak and has shut out two of its last three opponents. The Longhorns advanced with a 2-0 win over #7 Tennessee on Monday, which was preceded by a 4-2 win over #2 Oklahoma on Saturday and a 3-0 win over #3 Florida on Thursday.
That’s nothing compared to the recent meteoric rise of the Red Raiders, though. After their 2-0 upset of the Sooners on Saturday evening, TTU is now riding a 12-game win streak. They haven’t lost since a narrow 2-1 setback at BYU on May 2nd.
Their streak includes victories over five other top-ten teams: #8 Baylor (4-0), #5 Arizona State (18-0 in just five innings), then-#2 Arizona in the Big 12 Tournament title game (4-0), plus #5 Florida State (twice) during Super Regionals and #9 UCLA on Saturday (3-1).
The Longhorns are in the WCWS for the second straight season and third time in four years. Last year, they fell to Oklahoma in two games (8-3, 8-4). In 2022, they were obliterated by the Sooners in two laughers (16-1, 10-5).
However, Texas took both regular-season meetings against Texas Tech this season, winning a narrow 2-1 decision on Friday, February 14, and then demolishing the Red Raiders 11-0 two days later.
WCWS Schedule 2025
If necessary.
As has been the case since 2005, the 2025 Women’s College World Series will be a best-of-three affair. The series will start with Game 1 on Wednesday, June 4th, and end on either Game 2 on Thursday, June 5th, or Game 3 on Friday, June 6th.
All games will start at 7:00 pm CT/8:00 pm ET at Devon Park in Oklahoma City, which is the same venue that’s held the CWS since 1990, despite the 2024 name change (formerly USA Softball Hall of Fame Stadium).
