The WNBA returns from All-Star break with a Western Conference showdown Tuesday night. Atlanta visits Las Vegas at Michelob ULTRA Arena with both teams fighting for playoff positioning.
The Dream sit second in the East at 13-9 without star guard Rhyne Howard. Las Vegas checks in fourth in the West at 11-11, badly needing wins to make the playoffs.
A’ja Wilson enters fresh off back-to-back 30-point performances. She’ll face an Atlanta defense allowing the second-highest field goal percentage from mid-range, exactly where Wilson thrives.
Dream vs Aces Prediction
Las Vegas owns this matchup historically. They’ve won eight of the last 10 meetings, including four straight at home. The Aces roll into Tuesday with momentum after wins over Dallas and Golden State before the break.
Atlanta faces brutal scheduling. They’ve been on the road since July 11 and won’t return home until July 29. This marks their sixth straight road game with Phoenix looming tomorrow night.
Dream vs Aces Team Stats
Rhyne Howard’s absence hurts Atlanta big time. She leads the team with 4.5 assists per game while adding 15.4 points. Without their main playmaker, the Dream have struggled to generate offense lately.
Jackie Young remains questionable for Las Vegas after suffering a hip injury before the break. She played just one minute in the All-Star Game, which tells you she’ll probably sit on Tuesday. The Aces went 2-0 without her recently.
Wilson doesn’t look like she’s slowing down anytime soon. She torched Golden State for 37 and Dallas for 34 in her last two games. The three-time MVP barely played in the All-Star Game, so she’s rested up for Tuesday.
Atlanta’s frontcourt features Brittney Griner and Brionna Jones, but Wilson has dominated this matchup. She’s averaged 31.8 points over her last five games against Griner-led defenses.
The Dream bring offensive weapons with Allisha Gray averaging 18.4 points. But their road struggles continue. They’ve lost four of five away games, with their only win coming against a beat-up Chicago team.
Dream vs Aces Picks
- Aces Moneyline (-125 at DraftKings)
- A’ja Wilson Over 23.5 Points (+104 at DraftKings)

Give me the Aces on the moneyline as my best bet. The situation heavily favors Las Vegas in what should be a tight game.
Atlanta plays their sixth straight road game with another tomorrow – that’s trouble waiting to happen. Teams usually hit the wall during these marathon road trips.
Las Vegas desperately needs this win before a brutal four-game East Coast swing. They know what’s at stake sitting at .500 with the playoff race getting tighter. Home teams with rest advantages thrive in these spots.
The injury report also tilts toward Vegas. Howard’s absence removes Atlanta’s best creator and second-leading scorer. Young might sit for Las Vegas, but they’ve shown they can win without her lately.
Wilson provides the ultimate edge. She’s playing at an MVP level despite the team’s struggles. Against a Dream defense that gives up easy mid-range buckets, expect another monster performance.
Take the home team with rest, momentum, and the best player on the floor.
Dream vs Aces Odds
The line opened with Las Vegas favored by 2 before dropping to 1.5. Sharp money looks split, though several respected handicappers are backing the Aces moneyline. The total sits at 161.5 after opening slightly higher.
These teams haven’t met this season. Las Vegas swept last year’s series 3-0, winning by an average of 11.3 points. But that was a different Aces team with Kelsey Plum running the show.
