Jamie Vardy has led the race for most of the season and his impressive form lately leaves him comfortably in first place with 23 goals in 32 appearances this term.

The latest EPL Golden Boot odds clearly favor Vardy at -400, with Aubameyang the next closest at +600. The Arsenal star has scored just three goals since the restart. At this point, he would be the only player who could reach Vardy, but with just a few matches remaining, it seems unlikely.

Vardy Finding His Form

In Vardy’s first four fixtures after football returned in England, he continued to struggle in the final third. Regardless, he still held the goal-scoring lead. In his last three Premier League appearances, the 33-year old has found his scoring touch once again, scoring twice against Crystal Palace, then bagging a goal against Arsenal and Bournemouth. Aubameyang and Ings Making a Case

Now, he’s made quite the name for himself with Arsenal.

Last season, Aubameyang finished in a three-way tie for the Golden Boot with Sadio Mane and Mo Salah with 22 goals. He’s not far off that total this term, with 20 tallies. With three matches remaining and two of them being against relegation-threatened sides in Aston Villa and Watford, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him reach 22 goals once again.

Southampton frontman and former Liverpool striker Danny Ings has found himself a home at St. Mary’s as Ralph Hasenhuttl’s men continue to impress. The 27-year old has netted 19 goals and although he realistically won’t catch Vardy, it’s been a career-defining season for the Englishmen. He’s a vital part of the Saints attack and without him, they simply wouldn’t be around the middle of the Premier League table right now.

Mo Salah also has 19 goals, but motivation will be lacking for the Egyptian, who won the Golden Boot last year as previously mentioned.

It won’t get any easier for Vardy, with Sheffield United, Tottenham, and Manchester United remaining on the schedule. However, given his current form, it would not be a surprise to see the speedy striker score at least once within these last three matches.

Aubameyang could also snag some goals against the likes of Villa and Watford, but in the end, Vardy’s lead will prove to be a daunting task for the Gunners’ star, who is the only one who could catch Leicester’s main man at this point.
