The top team in the nation will have a tremendous challenge this Thursday as the Florida Gators take on the dangerous UCLA Bruins, at 9:45 PM ET at the FedEx Forum, in Memphis, Tennessee, at the NCAA Men’s Tournament Sweet Sixteen Round.

The last time Florida lost was on December 2nd; there have won 28 games in a row, including victories over the Albany Great Danes, and the Pittsburgh Panthers in the first two rounds of March Madness.

“We just wanted to come out and not let them play harder than us or not play as hard as we can,” said Scottie Wilbekin, who scored 21 points against Pitt. “I think we did a good job of having our energy up at the start of the game, and we played together on offense and played together on defense.”

UCLA is a risky opponent, especially because they enter this matchup with five wins in a row, including a 75-71 victory over Arizona in the PAC 12 Championship title game, and wins over Tulsa and Stephen F. Austin in the tournament.

“It’s a tough turnaround for us and we’re going to play arguably the best basketball team in the country right now, but it’s good to see us back in that mix and back in that discussion,” said UCLA first-year coach Steve Alford. “That’s what’s been a lot of fun.”3

Florida is a 4.5 point favorite in this March Madness Sweet Sixteen clash.
