The Kentucky Wildcats and the Louisville Cardinals will clash in the most interesting matchup of the March Madness Sweet Sixteen round, this Friday at the Lucas Oil Stadium, in Indianapolis at 9:45 PM ET.
Kentucky always gets a lot of heat because they use the one and done rule almost to perfection, and this season isn’t any different.
“I think we’re all playing the hand we’re dealt,” coach John Calipari said. “Kids are going on to the league from us and performing, and I’m proud of that. Would I like to have had them for four years? Yes. But I also like what’s happened for them and their families.”
“They had to hear how bad they were as players, how selfish they were, they’re not together, this isn’t a team,” Calipari added. “Instead of separating, they stuck together. They kept believing in the staff and wanted answers, `How do we get this right?’ and they accepted answers.”
The Wildcats are 2-0 against the spread in the tournament and 5-0 against the spread in their last five games overall.
The Cardinals are 1-1 against the spread at March Madness this season, but had covered the previous five matchups entering the tournament.
“There’s so many arguments,” Louisville Rick Pitino said about the one and done rule. “I think the best of all worlds, me personally, I would like to see exactly what football has.”
Louisville is a 4 point favorite in the March Madness odds. The game total is at 139 points.
