After a few joined practices, the Philadelphia Eagles and the New England Patriots will clash this Friday at 7:30 PM ET at the Gillette Stadium, in the second week of the preseason.

The Patriots look bad in the first week against the Washington Redskins, especially QB Ryan Mallet, who could be traded according to several rumors. Mallet will audition against Philadelphia’s defense.

“I’m ready to go, whenever my number is called,” Mallett said Thursday after a walk-through practice. “I’m good to go.”

“That’s part of the preseason. Those things are going to happen,” Mallett said about the amount of penalties the Patriot’s offense had in the first week against the Redskins. “It showed why you can’t let it happen when you get to the regular season. You just have to learn from that.”

The Eagles participated in a high scoring affair against the Chicago Bears in week two; they lost 34-28.

“We can’t have the errors that we had to start the game on offense, whether it be the interceptions or the penalties,” Eagles QB Nick Foles said. “What preseason allows is an opportunity to clean it up. That’s what we’ll do as a team. We’ll clean it up, and we’ll move forward.”

The New England Patriots are 2.5 point favorites in the NFL preseason betting odds and the game total is at 46.5 points.  Head coach Bill Belichick is 32-27 in preseason and Chip Kelly is 2-3.
