Inter Milan is favorite to advance to the next round in the UEFA Europa League as they take on Stjarnan in the first leg of the qualifying playoffs, this Wednesday at 5 PM ET, at Laugardalsvollur stadium, in Iceland.
Not much is known about the team from Iceland, and that’s their advantage over the Italians; they claim they know the ‘neroazzuri’ well enough to surprise them.
“We are ready for the game, we’re in good shape and arrive with the right mentality to fight,” said Stjarnan Coach Runes Paul Sigmundsson in his Press conference. “We know their weaknesses.”
“We tried to analyze Inter and their style of play, but obviously tomorrow we go beyond recordings.”
If the Italians don’t beat Stjarnan, it will be a huge surprise; their roster is heavier on every level.
“A game like this can hold dangers, as they are in excellent shape and unbeaten in six games, already going through three rounds,” said coach Inter Walter Mazzarri in his Press conference.
“Their fitness levels will be superior to ours and we must be wary not to give them the opportunity to hit us. We must be cautious as this is a dangerous team with quality players in attack.
The UEFA Europa League odds listed Inter Milan as favorites despite playing away from home, paying their victory -350 and Stjarnan is a high +2200; the draw for this matchup was rated at +650.
