Going into the NFL season, the Chicago Bears appeared ready to make a statement regarding its place within the NFC North. While a week 1 loss to the Bills at home left some questioning whether Jay Cutler and Head Coach Marc Trestman were on the right track, the team bounced back in style on the road defeating the tough San Francisco 49ers.

After throwing four touchdowns last week, Cutler said, “We just kind of had to weather the storm. We have to take a look at this film, break it down, and then we have to move on. There’s a lot of football left, so we just have to kind of keep building on this and get better and better each week.”

Trestman agreed, “As I told the team, as you go on this marathon of a football season, you’re going to have opportunities to gain some backbone, and I think this really helped us and will help us.”

All eyes will be on the Bears this week when the team travels to New Jersey to take on the New York Jets, which last week watched a 21-3 second quarter lead at the Green Bay Packers turn into a 31-24 loss.

New York Jets Head Coach Rex Ryan said, “As a team, you go and you learn from this. I’ve seen some teams that, when you have a game like this, it can turn your season on a positive note. That’s certainly the way I hope we respond to this game.”

As for tonight’s game with a total of 44, look for a high-scoring affair with the Bears giving up 5.4 yards per carry against a New York Jets squad averaging 6.3 yards per rush attempt so far this season. Also, Cutler should have a monster game passing wise.
