The host Cleveland Browns and Los Angeles Raiders will finally take the field when they meet at 5pm ET Monday at First Energy Stadium.

The game was originally scheduled to be played Saturday. However, the NFL moved the game back two days because of a COVID-19 outbreak with the Browns.

The Browns (7-6) have won two of their last three games and can move into a three-way tie for first place in the AFC North with the Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals – both 8-6 – with a victory.

The Raiders (6-7) have seen their playoff hopes dim with five losses in the last six games.

Cleveland is a three-point favorite and the over/under is 41.5 points in a game that will be broadcast by the NFL Network.

Jacobs Seeks Redemption

Only a few statistical props had been posted by books as of late Sunday evening. Much of that stems from the Browns’ unsettled quarterback situation as starter Baker Mayfield and backup Case Keenum were on the COVID-19/reserve list.

If Mayfield and Keenum aren’t cleared by Monday afternoon, then third-stringer Nick Mullens will get the start.

Raiders’ running back Josh Jacobs fumbled on the first play from scrimmage of last week’s game and the Kansas City Chiefs’ Mike Hughes returned it 23 yards for a touchdown. The Chiefs went on to rout Las Vegas 48-9.

Jacobs managed just 24 yards rushing on nine carries. While the average of 2.7 yards an attempt was ugly, he did not get many opportunities as the Raiders were forced to abandon the running game after falling behind 35-0 in the second quarter.

Look for the Raiders to try to rely on the running game early to counteract the Browns’ strong pass rush. Cleveland is slightly more vulnerable to the run as it is 11th in the NFL in rushing defense and seventh against the pass.

Jacobs also isn’t that far removed from an 87-yard rushing game on Thanksgiving in a win over the Dallas Cowboys

  • The Pick: Josh Jacobs over 58.5 rushing yards (-110)

Chubb Could Carry Big Load

Running back Nick Chubb is usually the focal point of the Browns’ offense when everyone is healthy. If Cleveland is forced to play Mullens at quarterback, figure on Chubb taking on even more responsibility.

The Raiders are a good matchup for Chubb as they have allowed 18 touchdowns to running backs through 13 games. Entering the weekend, that was the third-highest total in the NFL.

The Browns’ No. 2 running back, Kareem Hunt (ankle) has been ruled out. Thus, that means Chubb is likely to get even more touches.

Chubb has been limited to 75 yards rushing combined and no touchdowns in the last two games as teams have been stacking the box and daring Mayfield to beat them.

However, Chubb is likely to get the ball so many times in this game that the law of averages say he is due to find the end zone.

  • The Pick: Nick Chubb to score anytime TD (-150)
