Published:

- The San Diego Padres are -250 home favorites over the Colorado Rockies in a National League afternoon game on Tuesday, August 2
- It’s the first game of a day-night doubleheader
- Colorado is 8-2 straight up in the last 10 games against San Diego
On paper, there’s little doubt that the San Diego Padres (58-46, 28-22 home) are the better team than the Colorado Rockies (46-58, 16-31 away). However, performances on the diamond of late are telling a completely different story.
As they partake in a five-game series in San Diego, it’s Colorado that is holding an 8-2 straight up edge in the last nine head-to-meetings. The Rockies are also 10-1 against the run line in the past 11 games vs the Padres. At San Diego, the Rockies are 2-1 in the last three against the Padres.
Oddsmakers, though, are going with team that’s showing the better record this season. It’s the Padres who are -250 home favorites over the Rockies in the first game of a day-night twin bill on Tuesday. Colorado is 14-31 SU as a road underdog this season.
First pitch at Petco Park is set for 4:10 pm ET on Tuesday, August 2. The weather forecast is showing partly cloudy skies with 11 mph wind and a temperature of 83 degrees.
