NFL Week 4 Injury Report & Inactives: QB Jones Out for Patriots; Wilson Back at QB for Jets
- It is Week 4 of the new NFL season and there are some big names on the injured list
- New England Patriots QB Mac Jones (ankle) is out
- Below, see the names on the NFL Week 4 injury report and inactives
On the NFL Week 4 injury list, Brian Hoyer will be starting at quarterback for the New England Patriots in place of starter Mac Jones (high ankle sprain). However, as he’s facing the Green Bay Packers on the road, Hoyer may be struggling to find any downfield targets.
Patriots wide receiver Jakobi Myers (knee) will again be out of the lineup in Week 4. Meanwhile, the Packers are getting healthier. Tackles David Bakhtiari and Elgton Jenkins, running back AJ Dillon and wide receiver Allen Lazard no longer have a designation on the Green Bay injury list. As 9.5-point favorites, the Packers are owners of the longest Week 4 spread in the NFL odds.
With Jones out and the status of Miami’s Tua Tagovailoa’s status uncertain following a frightening head injury during the Dolphins’ TNF loss to Cincinnati, the starting QB crop in the AFC East is growing thin. However, Zach Wilson (knee) is returning from the inactives and will be starting in Week 4 on the road against the Steelers.
It might not be the most enjoyable comeback for Wilson, however. In 11 games at Pittsburgh, the Jets are 1-10 straight up and 3-8 against the spread.

Lions downgraded WR DJ Chark to out for Sunday’s game vs. the Seahawks.

Detroit’s explosive offense will also be without WR Amon-Ra St Brown (ankle) and DJ Chark (ankle).
Two of the NFL’s weakest offenses will be short-handed in the Chicago Bears vs New York Giants clash. Bears RB David Montgomery (ankle/knee) and Giants WR Kadarius Toney (hamstring) and Wan’Dale Robinson (knee) are all out.
Michael Gallup will be making his debut today. He had surgery in February to repair his ACL tear.
