Best Passing Props to Bet for Week 4

1) Lamar Jackson over 1.5 passing touchdowns  (+125); risk 1 unit at DraftKings Sportsbook

Lamar Jackson’s bet on himself to try to get his desired contract after this season so far looks like it could pay off. Through Week 3, Jackson has thrown the most TDs in the league with ten. That includes four last week in the Ravens’ 37-26 win over the Patriots, three the week prior in a 42-38 loss to the Dolphins, and three as well in Week 1, a 24-9 win over the Jets. Jackson has also run in a TD in each of the past two weeks.

That all adds up to the Ravens’ owning the highest points-per-game this season at 33. The Bills come in right behind at 31.7.

Buffalo may rank second in passing yards allowed per game but their secondary is in tatters entering Week 4 with Micah Hyde on IR and Jordan Poyer and Dane Jackson both questionable.

This game has the highest total on the board Sunday at 51 and has the potential to be a shootout, which should lead to more touchdowns from Jackson.

2) Zach Wilson over 0.5 interceptions (-214); risk 1 unit at Caesars Sportsbook

We had some nice plus-money above with Lamar, but now we’ll look to something much more chalky. And that is an NFL player prop on Jets’ QB Zach Wilson to throw an interception.

After suffering an offseason injury, Wilson missed the start of the season and has had little time to prepare. Joe Flacco has been starting for New York for three weeks, but in Week 4 Wilson is set to return.

It won’t be the easiest of debuts in Pittsburgh, where the Jets are 1-10 in NFL team trends. The Pittsburgh defense has five interceptions on the year and will be coming into this game on extra rest having last played on TNF last week. Last year Wilson finished the season with 9 TDs compared to 11 INTs.

Best Rushing Props to Bet for Week 4

1) Aaron Jones over 59.5 rushing yards (-111); risk 1 unit Caesars Sportsbook

The Packers saw how not using Aaron Jones can work for them in Week 1. It didn’t. He touched the ball five times out of the backfield and caught just 3/5 passes. Green Bay lost 23-7. In Week 2 Jones ran the ball 15 times for 132 yards and a touchdown, while also catching 3/3 passes for a second touchdown. Green Bay won 27-10.

Last week Jones still saw double-digit rushes (12) but was held in check by the Bucs’ fifth-ranked run unit, only rushing for 36 yards.

In Week 4 Jones has the opportunity to revert closer to his Week 2 numbers against the Patriots’ 19th-ranked run defense, giving up 114.7 YPG. New England just allowed 37 points and 188 yards on the ground to the Ravens last week. The Patriots, likely with Brian Hoyer under center, won’t want to let this one get out of hand, letting Aaron Rodgers throw all over them. I see them trying to slow this game down and force the Packers to rely more heavily on the run. Which is good news for Jones backers in NFL player props.

Best Receiving Props to Bet for Week 4

1) Noah Brown over 42.5 receiving yards (-109); risk 1 unit at Caesars Sportsbook

Noah Brown certainly isn’t a household name in NFL player props circles, but he could be soon. While he’s been in the league since 2017, entering this season he’d only totaled 39 receptions, 425 yards and zero touchdowns. Last year he had just 16 catches on 25 targets for 184 yards.

Well after three games this season he’s already accounted for 15 catches on 21 targets, 213 yards and his first NFL touchdown. With Michael Gallup injured, Brown had clearly put himself into the #2 receiver role behind CeeDee Lamb. However, that will change in Week 4 as Gallup is set to return from an ACL injury.

Washington ranks 28th in opponent passing YPG and has allowed an opposing WR to go over 100 yards in all three games so far. Now, Lamb may be the biggest recipient of their generosity in Week 4, and likely Gallup as well. But Brown has developed good chemistry with Rush and has totaled 68, 91 and 54 yards through three games so far. Bet him to go over 42.5 yards in his NFL player prop.

2) AJ Brown Over over 70.5 receiving yards (-114); risk 1 unit at FanDuel Sportsbook

AJ Brown and the Philadelphia Eagles are hosting the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 4 as nearly touchdown favorites. To cover that number, they may need to lean on the passing game. The Jags are first in rushing defense, but are just 21st against the pass.

Through three weeks only nine players in the whole NFL have been targeted more times than Brown’s 31 passes from Jalen Hurts. He’s caught 20 of those passes for 309 yards. He scored his first TD of the season last week against the Commanders.

After Brown’s massive ten-catch 155-yard day in Week 1, he’s come back down to Earth the past two weeks. However, that’s still seen him total 69 and 85 yards the past two weeks. FanDuel has the best line on his receiving yards at 70.5 that I could find. Whereas other books were lined a few yards higher. Check out the FanDuel Sportsbook promo code for this week to make your NFL player prop bets.

3) Tyler Lockett over 5.5 receptions (+120); risk 1 unit at DraftKings Sportsbook

The Seahawks are underdogs in Detroit in Week 4 but Geno Smith may find some space for his receivers against a Lions’ 25th-ranked pass defense. Detroit also lost defensive captain SS Tracy Walker who tore his Achilles last week.

If there is some space in the Lions’ secondary, the key beneficiaries will clearly be Tyler Lockett and DJ Metcalf. Of the 100 targets to Seahawks’ receivers this season, 51 have gone to either Lockett or Metcalf. Of the 79 catches made, 37 have gone to those two. That’s nearly 47 percent.

Lockett leads the way just slightly with 21 catches to Metcalf’s 16. Lockett has gone 9/11 in each of the past two weeks in catches/targets. Metcalf actually received a higher share of targets in Week 3 with 12, but only finished with five catches. He had four the week prior.

In Week 1, Detroit allowed 10 catches and 155 yards to AJ Brown of the Eagles. In Week 2, no Commander topped the 100-yard mark, but two Washington receivers each caught seven passes. Last week the Vikings’ top receiver against the Lions had six catches. But Minnesota also spread the ball all over to nine different receivers.

Seattle does not spread the ball around. One or both of Lockett and Metcalf should hit the six reception mark. I’m backing Lockett in my NFL player prop picks.

4) Robert Tonyan over 2.5 receptions (-135); risk 1 unit at DraftKings Sportsbook

Robert Tonyan saw his highest usage in Week 3 as he was targeted seven times by Aaron Rodgers. He caught six passes for 37 yards.

In Week 1 he was 3/5 and Week 2 was 2/2. His reception total of 2.5 is expecting him to revert back to a production rate from Weeks 1/2. However, he may be in the perfect situation to have a big day for NFL player prop bettors.

New England has allowed 17 receptions to opposing tight ends this season. They’ve allowed the most touchdowns to opposing tight ends at four.

5) Diontae Johnson over 5.5 receptions (-125); risk 1 unit at DraftKings Sportsbook

Diontae Johnson is lined at 65.5 receiving yards at DraftKings. He fell below that number in Weeks 1 and 2 this season. But last week has finished with 84 yards.

So it may be safer to play his reception total of 5.5. Johnson has finished with seven, six and eight receptions on 12, 10 and 11 targets respectively. Johnson is easily Mitch Trubisky’s most reliable target this season. He’s been targeted 33 times, with the next closest being TE Pat Freiermuth with 21. Johnson’s 21 receptions are ten more than both Freiermuth and Chase Claypool’s 11.

Add in the fact that the Jets have given up the tied-most touchdowns to opposing WRs (6), there’s no reason not to think Johnson can’t once again be in for a heavy workload.

The odds for all of the top players participating in NFL Week 4 to score a touchdown or the first touchdown are listed in the odds table above.

Here’s who I like to find the endzone and why for my Week 4 NFL player props:

  1. Jamaal Williams anytime touchdown (-125); risk 0.50 units at DraftKings Sportsbook: Jamaal Williams was already seeing a steady amount of touches in the Lions’ backfield with 23 carries over the first two weeks. In Week 1 he ran for two TDs. With D’Andre Swift’s injuries mounting Williams saw some extra touches in Week 3 (20) and ran 20 times for 87 yards and two touchdowns. Swift is set to be held out of the lineup in Week 4 which will instantly force Detroit to rely more heavily on Williams. This should be a good strategy against a Seahawks run defense ranked 30th in YPG (157).
  2. Saquon Barkley anytime touchdown (-200); risk 1 unit at DraftKings Sportsbook: We just mentioned the Seahawks’ 30th-ranked rush defense. They’re actually tied in 30th. The team they’re tied with? The Chicago Bears. The team that Saquon Barkley will be up against in Week 4. Barkley has 317 yards through three weeks, running in a score in two of those three games. The Giants’ offense was already limited and has now lost Sterling Shepard in the passing game with a torn ACL. Meaning the G-Men will likely need to lean more heavily on Barkley in both the run and pass game.
  3. Jonathan Taylor anytime touchdown (-155); risk 1 unit at DraftKings Sportsbook: Jonathan Taylor has been held out of the endzone each of the past two weeks after scoring in Week 1. However, he still ranks fourth in league rushing with 286 yards. Taylor could find paydirt though again in Week 4 against the Titans’ 29th-ranked rush defense
