The 2022 MAAC-ASUN Dublin Basketball Challenge continues on Saturday, November 19th from the National Basketball Arena in Dublin, Ireland. It’s rise and shine for this one as tip off between Central Arkansas (2-2, 1-2 ATS) and Rider (1-2, 1-0 ATS) is set for 6am ET.

Both teams failed to win their first games in Ireland and will be looking to walk away from their trip overseas with at least one W to go along with an unforgettable experience. Rider are the favorites to come out of this game victorious in the college basketball odds.

We look at the rest of the Central Arkansas vs Rider odds below while giving you our favorite pick and prediction for this overseas matchup.

This will be the first time these two programs hook up with one another. Not much is expected of Central Arkansas this year who are ranked 332nd out of 363 Division I teams in the KenPom ratings. On the other hand, Rider is hoping to climb to their top of their conference buoyed by many returnees this year.

Central Arkansas Bears Betting Outlook

The Bears have shown a balanced scoring attack out of the gate, with five players averaging double figures, led by French swingman Eddy Kayouloud. He’s scoring 14.7 points per game on 52.6% shooting from the field.

The fifth-year senior couldn’t find his stroke in his first game in Dublin, missing 11 of 16 shots he took from the field. As a team, the Bears shots just 36% from the field which was a big reason why they fell 73-64 to Niagara.

Kayouloud is the only senior on a fairly young squad that’s expected to be a middle-of-the-road contender in the ASUN conference this season. They play at a frantic pace with an adjusted tempo of 75.2 in the KenPom rankings, which places them ninth in the entire nation.

As such, their over/under totals are usually set pretty high and so far this year, Central Arkansas have combined with their opponent to go under the oddsmakers line in three games.

Rider Broncs Betting Analysis

A shooting touch was also lacking for the Rider Broncos in their Dublin debut when they lost 78-68 to Stetson. Rider shot just 37.3% from the field. Dwight Murray Jr. led the Broncs in scoring, finishing with 17 points and six rebounds. Tariq Ingraham added 12 points, seven rebounds and two blocks for Rider.

While shooting hasn’t been a strong point overall for the Broncs, they have been drilling the long balls with a very high success rate. Through three games this season, Rider are shooting an eye-popping 42.9% from long distance.

With a number of key starters back for the Broncs this year including Murray, Allen Powell , Mervin James and Ajiri Ogemuno-Johnson, Rider has their sights set on a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference title. Head coach Kevin Baggett is entering his 11th season in the job, and this may be his most well-rounded team.

Central Arkansas vs Rider Prediction

Out of all the teams who ventured to Ireland for the MAAC-ASUN Dublin Basketball Challenge, Rider have the most complete and seasoned squad so it came as a bit of a surprise that they couldn’t beat Stetson. Expectations are much higher for the Broncs than the Bears and that’s why they’re favorites in the college basketball odds.

2022-23 KenPom College Basketball Rankings

Team Rank Record Adjusted Offensive Efficiency Adjusted Defensive Efficiency
Central Arkansas Bears 332 2-2 95.2 (277th) 109.4 (347th)
Rider Broncs 193 1-2 100.2 (173rd) 102.7 (222nd)

With a player in Murray who’s expected to contend for the MAAC player of the year award, the Broncs possess the type of go-to scorer that Central Arkansas is simply lacking. Although they suffered an upset loss in their opener in Ireland, it’s hard to envision them going down to an even more inferior opponent in Central Arkansas.

Our best bet and prediction here is to take the Rider Broncs in a comfortable victory in the Saturday college basketball odds against the Central Arkansas Bears.
