Another near-miss in last week’s Ravens/Chargers SGP put me perilously close to even (+0.73 units) on 2023 NFL same-game parlays.

Chiefs vs Packers SGP Pick #1: Jordan Love Over 219.5 Passing Yards

Love’s total passing yards is a surprisingly low 219.5 in the Week 13 NFL player props. Love has gone over 228 passing yards in five straight games and is averaging 236.3 YPG so far this season.

The Kansas City defense currently sits third in the NFL against the pass, allowing just 176.6 YPG, but in three of five road games, the opposing QB has hit at least 245 passing yards. Overall on the road, KC is allowing 221.4 passing yards per game. Their overall numbers are being deflated by a couple abysmal performances, notably 114 passing yards from Denver’s Russell Wilson in a 24-9 Broncos victory in Week 8.

PFF only grades the KC secondary as 17th in the NFL in coverage, while their pass rush is down in 19th. Love should have a decent amount of time in the pocket to find his (admittedly underwhelming) receivers.

KC vs GB Same-Game Parlay Pick #2: Isiah Pacheco Anytime TD Scorer

Second-year back Pacheco is quietly having an excellent season in the KC offense, leading the team with 669 rushing yards (just 151 shy of his total from his rookie season) and five touchdowns, while adding 196 receiving yards and another major through the air. With six touchdowns on the season, total, he leads the Chiefs in that category. With Jerick McKinnon (groin) sidelined and Clyde Edwards-Helaire being used very sparingly (38 carries and seven targets in ten games), Pacheco’s usage will continue to be high.

The weather forecast at Lambeau is calling for freezing temperatures and flurries of snow, which should add a little extra emphasis on the ground game. Look for Pacheco to add to his team-leading touchdown total against a Green Bay defense that’s allowing 135.2 rushings yards per game (sixth-worst in the NFL).

Chiefs vs Packers Same-Game Parlay Pick #3: Packers +5.5

The final leg of today’s Kansas City vs Green Bay same-game parlay is the Packers to cover as 5.5-point home underdogs. As mentioned, the weather at Lambeau isn’t going to be conducive to a high-scoring game, and 5.5 points is a big number on the road in front of a very tough crowd.

Green Bay, as a team, is also trending up. The Packers have won three of their past four (two in a row at home) including quality wins over the Chargers, Rams, and Lions. Their only loss in that span was a four-point setback in Pittsburgh to the 7-4 Steelers.

Green Bay (+7) is one of only two teams in the NFL to post a positive point differential along with a losing record. The 5-7 LA Chargers (+17) are the other. Only two of Green Bay’s six losses on the season have come by more than four points (Lions, 34-20; Vikings, 24-10).
