San Antonio Spurs (-2, 204 o/u) at LA Clippers

Though the All-Star break intervened, the San Antonio Spurs (34-19, 14-12 road) will look for their third consecutive win tonight when they face the Los Angeles Clippers (35-19, 21-7 home) at the STAPLES Center (10:30 p.m. Eastern).

The Clippers have struggled against the Spurs recently, going 3-7 straight up and 4-6 ATS. The Spurs have also taken two of three from LA this season. But the Clips sent a message last time out by demolishing the Spurs by 20 in San Antonio at the end of January.

“They played harder than we did,” said San Antonio coach Gregg Popovich after the blow-out loss. “They played smarter. They executed what they wanted to do at both ends of the court better. It was a butt-kicking. I don’t know how else you all want me to describe it.”

Unfortunately for the Clippers, power forward and leading-scorer Blake Griffin (22.5 PPG) recently underwent elbow surgery and has been ruled out for tonight’s game. The Clippers have already played three in a row without Griffin, though, and have managed to keep the ship afloat, winning two of three.

With Griffin sidelined, the Spurs are two-point road favorites (and the over/under is at 204). Expect a rested San Antonio team to overwhelm the shorthanded Clippers are cover the two-point spread.
