- See below for my favorite College Football player props and best bets for Week 5
Week 5 is shaping up to the biggest week to date on the college football calendar. There are star studded matchups throughout the day on Saturday, and while those games will be can’t miss TV, I’m choosing to look elsewhere for my favorite player prop bets.
Below you’ll find my best bets in the Week 5 college football player props market, as well as the odds for the biggest names that will be taking the field.
College Football Week 5 Player Props
I’m starting my betting card with BYU running back LJ Martin, who has been one of the most efficient runners in college football to date. Martin carries a slate-high 100.5 rushing yard prop, a number that I still don’t think is high enough.
I’m also betting under 273.5 passing yards for Louisville’s Miller Moss, as it’s a total he hasn’t sniffed in two of three starts so far this season.

Odds as of September 26 at FanDuel and BetMGM. New customers can claim the FanDuel promo code and get a bonus to bet on Week 5 college football this weekend.
Week 5 College Football Player Prop: LJ Martin Rushing Yards
Let’s start with Martin. He may not be a Heisman Trophy odds contender yet, but a few more games like his first three and he’ll be creeping up the odds board.
Martin has ripped off 101+ rushing yard performances in each of BYU’s contests so far, and enters play averaging 8.6 yards per carry. Last time out, he hit 131 rushing yards on only 8 attempts in a blowout win.
Martin has at least one 40-yard run in each outing, and should get plenty of carries for a Cougars team that’s favored by a touchdown on the road in Colorado.
LJ Martin Rushing Stats
Speaking of the Buffaloes, they have been gashed by opposing rushing attacks all season. They rank outside the top-100 in opponent rushing yards and attempts per game, and who can forget the performance versus Georgia Tech when they allowed 320 yards on the ground to the Yellow Jackets.
- Best Bet #1: LJ Martin Over 100.5 Rushing Yards (-114 at FanDuel)
Week 5 College Football Player Prop: Miller Moss Passing Yards
On to Moss now, who comes in averaging just 230 passing yards per game. He grades out 58th among starting college QB’s, and has nearly as many turnover worthy plays as 20+ yard throws.
It doesn’t help that the Cardinals are going on the road for their biggest test of the season. They’re currently favored by 4.5 points over the Panthers, but I expect that number to move towards Pitt before kickoff.
One of the main reasons the Panthers are an intriguing underdog bet is the strength of their pass defense. They’ve yet to allow an opposing QB to throw for 200 yards, and their pass rush has generated the fifth highest sack percentage in the country.
- Best Bet #2: Miller Moss Under 273.5 Passing Yards (-114 at FanDuel)
