Magic Johnson raised eyebrows in 2016 when he joined several investors in purchasing a controlling interest in Team Liquid, a professional gaming organization based in the Netherlands.

At the time, many accused the basketball Hall of Famer of throwing his money away, and questioned why any sane individual would invest in professional gaming.

Turns out Magic was ahead of his time. That initial investment has paid off handsomely as Team Liquid earned $11 million in prize money by winning The International 2017. The organization has won multiple titles since and was recently valued at a whopping $200 million by Forbes.

Many other jocks have begun following Magic’s lead and have started putting their own hard-earned money into eSports as well. In fact, it’s become such a common phenomenon that we’ve created a quiz to see if you can guess which past and present athletes are eSports investors. We’ve included NBA MVPs, Super Bowl champions, and even one of Magic’s teammates from the 1992 Olympic Games.

After taking our quiz, check out our regularly updated League of Legends 2019 World Championship Odds Tracker to see the average odds for all of the top LoL teams across a number of online sportsbooks. We’ve been tracking – and graphing – their movement all year long so you can see precisely how your favorite squad’s fortunes have risen or fallen.

You’ll even be able to find odds for Team Liquid if you’d like to check in on Magic’s investment!
