One of the most intriguing games in the March Madness Round of 32 features the Harvard Crimson taking on the Michigan State Spartans, this Saturday at 8:40 PM ET at the Spokane Arena, in Washington.
Harvard upset the Cincinnati Bengals 61-57 covering the spread as three point underdogs. The Crimson is 7-1 against the spread in their last eight matchups.
“In my mind, today’s game was anything but an upset,” The Bearcats Mick Cronin said of Harvard after the loss. “They’ve got a great team. Tough draw for us. In my opinion, they’re one of the best teams we played all year.”
Michigan State is the President Barack Obama’s team to win it all; the Spartans started the tournament by beating Delaware 93-78, but what Harvard brings to the table will be their first real challenge of the tournament,
“It is unique how the world works,” Michigan State coach Tom Izzo said about facing his longtime friend Tommy Amaker, the coach of Harvard. “and maybe what goes around comes around. … There is great respect and we’ve had it for a lot, lot of years. We went through some interesting things back in the late ’80s, early ’90s together and spent a lot of time on the road, a lot of time talking.”
The March Madness betting lines for this matchup have the Spartans as 7.5 point favorites over Crimson, and the game total was set at 136 points.
