Just three weeks remain on the KBO calendar and although it looks like first place has been wrapped up, the race for second is very much alive.

Only two and a half games separate second place Kiwoom from fourth place LG, and the Twins are in a great spot on Tuesday at 5:30 am EST. They’ll take on Lotte and right-hander Adrian Sampson, someone they’ve had plenty of success against before.

Odds as of Sept. 28th at FanDuel.

LG opened up as a sizeable -210 favorite on the moneyline, but if you take them at -1.5 on the runline, it pays near even money.

Sampson Struggles vs Twins

Sampson has faced the Twins four times this season, posting an 0-3 record and a 7.17 ERA. He’s allowed 19 runs in those four starts, but it’s not like LG is the only team to rough him up.

Last time out versus KT Wiz, Sampson surrendered six hits and eight runs in just 4 innings. He has a 5.78 ERA in 2020, and has given up at least six runs in 33% of his outings.

The Twins meanwhile, will counter with Tyler Wilson, who’s been rock solid versus the Giants this season. He’s 2-0 with a 2.00 ERA and the last time he faced them he was virtually unhittable. Two weeks ago, he shutout Lotte over 7 innings, while striking out a pair.

He’s allowed just one earned run in his last 14 innings and the Giants enter play with four losses in their last five games.

Pick: LG Twins -1.5 (-104)

KIA is Ice Cold

As for the second place Heroes, they’ll take on KIA on Tuesday, who’ve lost six of seven. The Tigers have scored three or fewer runs in six of those contests, and have a terrible track record against Kiwoom starter Jake Brigham.

The right-hander is 1-0 in two outings against KIA, and has yet to surrender a run. He held them to just four hits last week and has now given up two or fewer runs in six of his last seven starts.

Brigham’s Last Three Starts

Opponent IP ER H K
KIA 6.0 0 4 5
HAN 7.0 2 3 9
LG 5.0 2 5 8

The Tigers will counter with Ki Young Im, which must be music to the Kiwoom batters’ ears. Im lasted just 2 innings in his previous outing versus the Heroes, giving up 10 hits and eight runs.

The 27-year-old has allowed up at least four runs and nine hits in three of his past four starts, and has dropped five of his past six decisions overall.

Kiwoom meanwhile, has a tendency to win big. Eight of its last nine victories have been by at least two runs, with five of those wins coming by at least four runs.

Pick: Kiwoom Heroes -1.5 (-102)
