BetMGM Available in New York

As of 5:00 am ET on January 17, BetMGM will join the burgeoning online sports-betting market in the state of New York.

New York represents the largest potential betting market among states that have legalized the activity. The Empire State ranks fourth in the US in terms of state population.

While Pennsylvania and Illinois, both of which legalized online betting before NY, rank fifth and sixth, they are a distant fifth and sixth. New York is home to nearly 20 million residents. Pennsylvania and Illinois are both between 12 and 13 million.

It’s clear that BetMGM is going to be a major player in New York. They are devoting a lot of resources to advertising, bringing on A-list Hollywood celebrity Jamie Foxx as the face of BetMGM ad campaigns.

Where Is BetMGM Legal?

New York represents the 12th state in which BetMGM is now offering its online betting platform.

Prior to New York, BetMGM was already active in Arizona, Colorado, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Washington DC, West Virginia, and Wyoming.

What Will BetMGM Offer in NY?

BetMGM is a full-service sportsbook that has been operating since 2018, when MGM Resorts International started a joint venture with Entain Holdings.
