According to John Fury, his son Tommy Fury will knockout Jake Paul in the boxing ring Sunday. The 58-year-old former professional boxer gave some bold predictions about how this weekend’s anticipated fight in Saudi Arabia will play out.

Paul vs Fury is finally set to go down after two previous scheduled fights between the combatants fell through. Fury is listed as the underdog in the Paul vs Fury odds even though the Fury clan is confident the fight won’t play out in that fashion.

Both of these fighters are undefeated professionally, with Paul being 6-0 and Fury owning an 8-0 record.  Someone’s 0 has to go come Sunday.

John Fury Makes Paul vs Fury Prediction

John Fury, the father of Tommy, spoke with FreeBets about the upcoming Paul vs Fury fight. John guaranteed his son will knock out Paul in Saudi Arabia. “Jake Paul’s getting knocked out,” Fury stated. “No doubt in my mind Jake Paul is getting knocked out.”

John added that Tommy isn’t training to win on points and is going for the knockout. ” We’ve not trained for points, not interested in points. If it goes to points, let them pick Jake Paul’s hand up, because he deserves a win.”

Tommy Fury is 8-0 in his professional boxing career, with four of those victories coming by way of knockout. In his most recent fight, back in April 2022, Fury took down Daniel “Bocian” Bociansk, winning by points in the sixth round.

John Fury obviously isn’t going to pick against his son in this fight, but his opinion also carries weight due to his professional boxing experience. John spent eight years as a professional boxer between 1987-1995, appearing in 13 bouts and posting an 8-4-1 record.

John Fury on Tommy Fury Training

One of the big reasons John Fury is guaranteeing a knockout of Jake Paul is due to his son’s training. “What I’m seeing in a gym with proper professional boxers, undefeated guys, cruiserweight, heavyweight, light heavyweight, he’s just been destroying them all on his path,” Fury said.

Not only is John predicting a knockout, but he doesn’t think Jake Paul is even going to make the fight competitive. “I’ll be surprised if Jake Paul can even hit him. We’ve worked on defence; we’ve worked on everything”, Fury stated.

This is the biggest boxing event of the year, but the pressure isn’t going to phase Tommy Fury, according to his dad. “We don’t do pressure…We train our minds as well as our bodies”, Fury explained. “The Furys don’t do pressure because this is what we do”.

Fury Priced as Underdog in Boxing Odds

Although John Fury is guaranteeing his son will knockout Jake Paul, oddsmakers aren’t sold on the British boxer getting the victory Sunday. The latest Paul vs Fury odds at Caesars price “TNT” as a +140 underdog against the ‘Problem Child’.

John believes there’s money to be made betting on Fury as the underdog.  “All the bookies, they’re going to lose a lot of money,” Fury said. “If somebody has got the nuts to put a big few quid on Tommy, they’re going to be very rich come the 27th, and the bookies are going to be cleaned out.”

All the bookies, they’re going to lose a lot of money

John added that he knows some people who have placed some nice bets on Tommy. “All we’ve trained to do is destroy Jake Paul, and that’s what going to happen,” Fury exclaimed. “I’m never wrong, I’ve not been wrong yet, Fury stated, referencing his success predicting Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder among other fights.

A successful $100 wager on Fury at his current underdog price at Caesars would payout $240 if the Brit garners the victory. The payout gets even juicer if you bet on Fury to win by KO/TKO or DQ, as Caesars is offering that fight prop at +280 odds.

Verdict on Fury vs Paul

The Fury clan is clearly confident in how Sunday’s fight will play out, which creates betting intrigue given that Fury is the underdog. Oddsmakers have also taken notice, as they’ve been shortening TNT’s odds after opening them around +185.

Our boxing expert is also taking the underdog in his official Paul vs Fury prediction. He cites Fury’s reach advantage and the fact the Love Island star has been fighting for much longer than Paul as reasons for his betting pick.

Jake Paul has responded to John Fury, claiming that he and his son Tommy are “delusional”. Paul told ESPN Plus that they “have no idea what the f**k they’re getting themselves into”. Paul has been favored in each one of his six fights to date.

The Problem Child has faced tougher competition than Fury, including beating former UFC Champion Anderson Silva in his most recent fight.  Fury’s experience edge is notable, however, and his intense training detailed by his father John means boxing fans could be in for a surprise Sunday.
