Sebastian Fundora’s Betting Outlook vs Mendoza

Fundora is an undefeated pro boxer and the champion pugilist looks to make the sophomore defense of his interim crown. It has been close to a year since the division’s undisputed champion Jermell Charlo last fought hence the rate of activity Fundora has had as an interim belt holder while Charlo deals with injury.

‘The Towering Inferno’ has a reach that is longer than current unified heavyweight world champion Oleksandr Usyk and the genetic anomaly looks to notch his 21st professional win this weekend.

The 25-year-old is a surging pugilist in the sport who has quite rapidly ascended the ranks.

Fundora has quickly gone from a promising prospect to a fighter many see as the number two super welterweight on the planet today.

This bout is seen by many pundits as well as fans alike as a bit of a “stay-busy” fight as evidenced also by the lopsided numbers that oddsmakers are providing for this one.

Mendoza looks to turn the division on its head and extend his winning streak in a big way this time out.

Brian Mendoza’s Betting Outlook vs Fundora

Mendoza is a durable fighter, is a solid puncher, and is arguably riding his biggest wave of career momentum heading into this affair.

Putting together a pair of fifth-round finishes and rebounding from his second professional loss on points,  Mendoza is seemingly fervent about the idea of causing the huge upset here. In his last outing, Mendoza bested a former unified titleholder in this weight category and looks to claim a championship of his own in the coming days.

These 154-pounders have fairly defined attributes with Mendoza having a slightly superior finishing rate compared to Fundora’s depth of resume and physical advantages.

A cartoonish ten-inch reach advantage favors Fundora which is customary for someone with his body type for the weight category.

Sebastian Fundora vs Brian Mendoza Prediction

This prizefight is slated for twelve rounds and I do lean a bit more towards this one ending inside the distance.

I think Fondura can be the first fighter to turn out Mendoza’s lights as a pro boxer. The reach, fight IQ, and unique southpaw angles are enough (in my estimation) for the champion to chip away at his next contender and retain the strap.

I believe that there’s good value in pursuing prop bets on this fight not going the distance (-105) and Fundora winning via KO or TKO (+110).

Pick: Sebastian Fundora (-1100)
