After being stunned at home by the Buffalo Bills last weekend, the Chicago Bears now have the unenviable task going to San Francisco and being the first team to play a regular season game in the brand-new Levi’s Stadium.
More so, the Bears know what’s coming from the high-flying 49ers.
Bears Defensive Lineman Willie Young said, “You know San Fran is going to come out and run some of that zone-read. I wouldn’t be surprised if we get that for the rest of the year. That’s not just singling us out; it’s across the league. Everybody’s buying stock in that particular play, so we’re just going to have to be sound for stopping that zone-read.”
As for the 49ers, it’s not the offense but defense that must rise up now that the squad lost both corners during last weekend’s win in Dallas.
Said 49ers cornerback Perrish Cox, “We are all tight in the back end. We have a great rotation going with each other. All of us can play. One man goes down, the next man has to step up.”
Considering how 49ers Head Coach Jim Harbaugh rallies his troops in times of strife, odds are the Bears leave the Bay Area with a loss. Specifically, look for the run game of Colin Kaepernick and Frank Gore to dissect the lackluster Bears defense.
