The Super Regional features 16 teams in eight head-to-head matchups — these are all the teams that won their respective four-team regional tournaments. The eight teams who win their Super Regional will make up the field for the 2025 College World Series, which will be played at Charles Schwab Field Omaha in Omaha, Nebraska, beginning June 13.

Arizona vs North Carolina Picks & Predictions

  • North Carolina -2.5 (-115 at Bet365)

North Carolina might have the best pitcher still standing in the tournament in Jake Knapp, who will likely get the Game 1 call for the Tar Heels.

He got the start in the UNC’s regional opener against Holy Cross and didn’t disappoint, throwing 8 1/3 scoreless innings, allowing just four hits and striking out seven.

The ACC pitcher of the year is now 13-0 on the season with a microscopic 1.98 ERA.

But Carolina is far more than one devastating pitcher. They average 7.7 runs per game, and finished the regular season Top 6 in the ACC in runs, home runs and RBI.

Even with their pitching clearly among the best in college baseball, they still went Over the 11.5 runs line set Friday in their last three games to win the Chapel Hill bracket.

Arizona is into a Super Regional for the first time since 2021, and they didn’t break much of a sweat in capturing the Eugene Regional, going a perfect 3-0.

After a low-scoring 3-2 win over Cal Poly, Arizona’s offense went wild, scoring 14 runs in back-to-back games over Utah Valley and Cal Poly again to clinch the region.

Arizona mashed 15 home runs across the three games in Eugene, including a school-record eight against Utah Valley and six more in the regional final against Cal Poly. Shortstop Mason White has been a man on fire, with home runs in 10 of his last 12 games. Overall, of the Wildcats’ 34 hits, 23 went for extra-bases.

Owen Kramkowski is likely to get the nod against UNC, after he opened the regionals by allowing one run in seven innings of work, with seven strikeouts. Their bullpen was solid, pitching 11 total innings, giving up just one run, one walk and striking out 17.

As much as I want to bet the Over, I think Knapp could single-handedly shut things down on his end, and UNC would need an Arizona-level explosion to top that total.

Instead, I think Arizona’s offense, which has really taken off, struggles with the level-up in talent. Remember, they avoided 12th-ranked Oregon in their regional, as Utah Valley upset them and Cal Poly ended them. The Tar Heels are one of the favorites to take it all, and show why Friday night.
