The NCAA Tournament has trimmed almost all the fat from the Regional Tournaments, with just five spots remain for the Super Regional round.
After top-seeded Vanderbilt and second-seeded Texas got bounced, there’s no telling what’s in store in these win-or-go-home games on Monday.
Read below for my college baseball best bets for the regional games played on June 2.

College Baseball Pick #1: North Carolina vs Oklahoma
It’s been a two-horse race in the Chapel Hill regional, and the 5th-ranked North Carolina Tar Heels finally blinked, losing 9-5 Sunday to the Oklahoma Sooners.
This will be the third and final matchup between these teams, with the Tar Heels dumping them 11-5 to send the Sooners to the elimination bracket.
The Sooners are battle-tested coming out of the SEC, and they hold their own offensively averaging 6.5 runs per game, during the regular season, and over 10 per game in this regional.
As good as the Tar Heels’ offense can be, it has one of the dominant pitching staffs in college baseball, their team 3.37 ERA the third-best in the nation.
Win or lose, I think they go out on their own terms. OU will have to best that pitching staff to earn their way out of Chapel Hill.

College Baseball Pick #2: Murray State vs Ole Miss
In the Oxford Regional, the 10th-ranked Ole Miss Rebels have caught back up with the Murray State Racers.
The Racers dumped the Rebels 9-6 to kick off the region, and Ole Miss has been battling upstream ever since, picking up wins over Western Kentucky and Georgia Tech before beating up Murray State 19-8 Sunday.
Offense has not been lacking from either team, as both averaging 10 runs a game in their region.
Murray State hit .301 as a team this season and averaged 10.5 runs per game, both Top 2 marks in the Missouri Valley.
Ole Miss isn’t an offensive slouch, ranking seventh in college baseball with 113 dingers, while ranking inside the Top 80 in runs per game at 7.5 per contest.
All this to say, there should be plenty more scoring in the finale.
College Baseball Pick #3: Wake Forest vs Tennessee
Tennessee’s run to the Super Regionals hit a speed bump as the Wake Forest Demon Deacons scratched out a 7-6 win, making it three straight victories since dropping their opener to Cincinnati.
Wake Forest wasn’t a slouch in the ACC this year, ranking third in hitting with a .316 average, and tied with Duke for the most runs scored out of any school in the conference.
After losing to Cincy, Wake rung up 27 runs over two games to force its way into the Sunday’s tilt with Tennessee. They earned the win after taking a bases loaded walk in the bottom of the ninth to take it.
The Volunteers are good for the bounce back, though: they were 45-17 on the year, and ranked Top 4 in both hitting and ERA in the SEC.
It’s going to be tough, but I think they find their way through out of the Knoxville Region.
College Baseball Pick #4: Miami vs Southern Miss
The Miami Hurricanes missed their first chance at punching a ticket to the Super Regionals, getting crushed by the Southern Miss Golden Eagles 17-6.
It was Miami’s first loss of the tournament, and they get the rematch Monday night.
Southern Miss, the 16th seed, started off with an upset loss to Columbia before getting through the elimination bracket and picking up some offensive momentum.
The Golden Eagles led the Sun Belt Conference in hitting with a .303 average, and are inside the nation’s Top 20 with 103 home runs on the year.
I don’t think Miami’s bubble has burst yet, but they’ll need to score some runs to stay in this one, and that will push the total Over.
