The Super Regional features 16 teams in eight head-to-head matchups — these are all the teams that won their respective four-team regional tournaments. The eight teams who win their Super Regional will make up the field for the 2025 College World Series, which will be played at Charles Schwab Field Omaha in Omaha, Nebraska, beginning June 13.

Despite being pitted against each other in this Super Regional, Arkansas (+380) and Tennessee (+500) are the second and third-favorites in the 2025 College World Series odds. Only LSU (+330) sits ahead of them, with the other 13 remaining teams all +700 or longer.

Tennessee vs Arkansas Picks & Predictions

With both Vanderbilt and Texas ousted before the Super Regionals, the path is not only clear for the Razorbacks to make their first trip back to the College World Series for the first time since 2022, but to win the whole thing for the first time in school history.

They bring it offensively, hitting .313 as a team with a .422 on-base percentage, while ranking inside college baseball’s top 10 in both home runs and a .553 slugging percentage.

They rampaged through their region, going 3-0 and outscoring their opposition 26-6 to punch their ticket to the Super Regionals.

Arkansas will start ace Zach Root, who threw six scoreless innings, allowing three hits, one walk and striking out seven in a 12-1 win over Creighton in the Fayatteville Regional.

But he’s been touched up by the Vols last meeting, though, as he couldn’t escape the fourth inning, allowing seven hits and four runs, while waling two and fanning four in a 10-7 loss.

Which is why the Volunteers might just be the toughest out for them left.

Tennessee scored the most total runs of any team in the mighty SEC, and were tied for third in the conference with a .304 team batting average. Their power is legit, ranking third in the nation in home runs, and fifth in slugging (.558).

They went 3-1 in the Knoxville Regional, scoring at least nine runs in three of four games, needing a win-or-go-home victory over Wake Forest to clinch the region.

Perhaps in a surprise move, the Vols won’t start ace Liam Doyle, giving way to Marcus Phillips, who owns a 3.71 ERA on the year.

He lasted 4.1 innings in his last start against Arkansas, giving up three runs on seven hits while walking three.

There might not be a more competitive Super Regional than this one: Tennessee is, of course, the defending champion, while Arkansas is the betting favorite to win it all in 2025.

There’s so much potent offense on the field, with both schools ranking inside the top 30 in runs per game. The pitching is good, but has been proven to be tagged by the opposition. For that reason, we’ll ride the Over Saturday.
