Baylor Betting Outlook
Senior guard Adam Flagler has stepped to the forefront as Baylor’s leader in the early going of the season.
Flagler is averaging 17.3 points and 7.7 assists a game. He has also scored in double figures in 25 of his last 27 games, dating to last season.
In the win over Northern Colorado, Flagler had his second career double-double. He finished with 13 points, 10 assists and three steals.

A transfer from West Virginia, junior forward Jalen Bridges is scoring 16.0 points a game. Freshman guard Keyonte George, the highest-rated recruit in Baylor history, is also averaging 16.0 points along with 6.7 assists and 6.0 rebounds.
Senior guard LJ Cryer is the fourth Bears player scoring in double figures with a 14.3 average.
Cryer led Baylor with 20 points on Monday. Bridges added 15 points, George finished with 12 points, seven rebounds and six assists, senior guard Dale Bonner contributed 12 points and six steals and junior forward Caleb Lohner had 10 rebounds. Lohner is a BYU transfer.
Baylor had 15 steals while forcing Northern Colorado into 24 turnovers. The Bears also shot 52.9% (37 of 70) while allowing 37.5% (21 of 56).
It was coach Scott Drew’s 400th win during his 20-year stint at Baylor.
Virginia Betting Trends
Virginia returns 91.4% of its scoring from last season when the Cavaliers wound up going to the NIT quarterfinals, the most of any team in the country. However, it was a pair of freshmen that led the rout of Monmouth.
Guard Ryan Dunn stuffed the stat sheet in his college debut after not playing in Virginia’s season opener against North Carolina Central. He registered 13 points, six rebounds, three blocked shots, two assists and two steals.
Dunn played well in any language.

Backcourt mate Isaac McKneely added 15 points. That included the Poca, W.Va., native making 4 of 6 shots from three-point range.
Senior forward Ben Vander Plas, an Ohio transfer, chipped in with 10 points.
Vander Plas’ father was college teammates with Virginia coach Tony Bennett at Green Bay. Ben Vander Plas is named after Bennett.
Senior guard Armaan Franklin is Virginia’s leading scorer in the early going at 14.0 points a game.
Nine players scored at least seven points against Monmouth as Virginia shot 55.6% (30 of 54) overall and 52.0% (13 of 25) from distance. The Cavaliers also had just six turnovers and outrebounded the Hawks 35-21.
The Cavaliers’ defense was stifling as it turned 21 turnovers into 35 points and forced Monmouth into two 30-second shot-clock violations. Monmouth shot just 39.0% (16 of 41).
Baylor vs Virginia Prediction
The teams haven’t played since the 1968-69 season when Baylor won 79-61. That has no bearing on this game and veteran Virginia should find a way to hang tough with talented Baylor.
Pick: Virginia +5 (-110)
Season CBB Record: 4-3 ATS (+0.7 units)
