Read below for my expert pick, the latest odds and how to watch TCU vs South Carolina.
TCU vs South Carolina Picks
- South Carolina -13.5 (-110 at DraftKings)
The Gamecocks bulldozed through the Sweet 16 with a 94-68 demolition of the Oklahoma Sooners, which is by far their closest game of the tournament.
They opened the tournament with a 103-34 thrashing of Southern, before dispatching of the USC Trojans by a score of 101-61.
Against Oklahoma, they held the Sooners to just 39% shooting from the field, including a rough 6-for-20 mark from downtown, just a 30% clip.
Ta’Niya Latson led all scorers with 28 points on 7-for-11 shooting, while Raven Johnson added 18 points on 8-for-11 from the field. As a team, the Gamecocks lit the Sooners on fire, going 10-for-14 from 3-point range, a 71% rate.
TCU vs Ranked Teams This Season
It’s been a much different path for the Horned Frogs, who opened the tournament with an 86-40 win over UC San Diego, before landing safely in a w 62-59 OT win over Washington. TCU then handled the Virginia Cavaliers 79-69.
They’ve been powered by the overall play of Olivia Miles, who is averaging 19.3 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists in the Women’s NCAA Tournament.
Teammate Marta Suarez has had a monster impact in this tournament riding alongside Miles: the pair literally had a hand in TCU’s entire offense, scoring or assisting in each of TCU’s 79 points en route to their win over Virginia.
As dynamic as that duo is, they are running into NCAA women’s basketball royalty in the Gamecocks. Their experience and staying power on the main stage are tough to compete against.
So is their interior play, which racks up a whopping 47.2 paint points per game (2nd) while allowing just 23.3 points in the paint, which rests at a reliable 17th.
The 14th-ranked Horned Frogs held their own against ranked teams this year, going 4-3, with each of the losses decided by 11 points or fewer. But they haven’t met a team quite like South Carolina, which should take them apart and earn that Final Four berth.
