Two struggling teams meet up in Wisconsin on Monday, December 5th when the Green Bay Phoenix (0-7, 1-6 ATS) host the IUPUI Jaguars (1-7, 2-5 ATS) at the Resch Center. It’s an early tip off for this one, as the game is scheduled for noon ET.
You’ll have to look at the bottom of the Horizon League standings to locate the records of these two squads who have not fared well early this season. It was the same situation last year when IUPUI finished last and Green Bay second to last, but somebody has got to win this one.
The Phoenix are 6.5-point favorites in the college basketball odds for this game. Read below for more of the IUPUI vs Green Bay odds, plus our best bet and pick for this matchup.

IUPUI’s sole win of the season came over Franklin College, a Division III program. With moneyline odds of -275, the Phoenix have an implied win probability of 73.33% to beat IUPUI.

IUPUI Jaguars Betting Outlook
It’s been a tough go for the Jaguars early this year, although they made quite a few changes from the squad that finished last in the Horizon League last season. They added two D-1 transfers, four junior college transfers, and four true freshmen in hopes of betting out of the basement.
Transfer, Bryce Monroe, paces the Jags in scoring averaging 11.9 points per game. However, the San Diego transfer missed the Jaguars last game against Milwaukee and if he’s absent again when they face Green Bay, it’ll make things even tougher.
Without their top scorer, freshman Vincent Brady II picked up the slack, scoring a career-high 18 points on 5-of-9 shooting against Milwaukee.

The analytics and stats don’t bode well for this IUPUI side. Their offensive efficiency rating, adjusted for schedule, is ranked second to last in the country, per KenPom, while its adjusted defensive efficiency is third-worst in the country. IUPUI’s defense surrenders 75.3 points per game on 48.6 percent shooting.
Green Bay Phoenix Betting Analysis
If you’re Green Bay and you want some sense of optimism, just look back to the two matchups with IUPUI last year. Those were the source for two of Green Bay’s five wins all season and should provide some confidence heading into this one, that they can notch their first victory of the year.

While the recent matchups against IUPUI is a positive for Green Bay, what’s not is their lack of scoring. It’s extremely rare to find a Division I team without a single player averaging double digits in points, but that is the case with the Phoenix.
Guard Zae Blake leads the squad with 9.8 points per game and should probably be encouraged to shoot the ball more. He’s shooting 60% from the field and 53.8% from beyond the arc, but only attempts 5.8 field goals per game. Part of the reason he probably doesn’t get as many shots off is because he only plays 21.2 minutes per outing.
Head coach Will Ryan does spread the minutes quite thoroughly with an eight-man rotation. Amongst those eight players, they all average at least 18.9 minutes of court time with the Clarence Cummings III logging the most action at just over 28 minutes per game.

The Phoenix have failed to score 70 points in a single game this year with their most recent game, an 81-67 loss to Milwaukee being the best scoring outing for Ryan’s side. As a team, they shoot under 40% from the field.
IUPUI vs Green Bay Pick & Prediction
You’d think with such a terrible offense, Green Bay would be going under the betting line in the college basketball odds with regularity, but it’s actually the opposite case with the Phoenix. They have hit the over in five of seven games this year, partly because they have a porous defense as well.
Opponents have shot 50.9% from the field against them this year, a stat that puts them 360th out of 363 Division I teams. In their last four games, all of which went over the betting line, the Phoenix have given up an average of 79.8 points per game.
However, they’re not facing an offensive juggernaut on Monday in the IUPUI vs Green Bay odds to say the least. With the status of IUPUI”s top scorer in question, our prediction is that Green Bay will once again handle the Jaguars fairly easily, so bet on the Phoenix to win and to cover in the college basketball odds.
