One of the best rivalries in the Big 12 will take center stage on Friday afternoon in Austin as Baylor visits Texas in Week 13 action. The kick-off is scheduled for 12 PM ET at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. This game can be seen nationally on ESPN. Keep reading for the Baylor vs Texas prediction.
The Bears have dropped two in a row and lost in heartbreaking fashion on Saturday to unbeaten TCU, 29-28. They head in at 6-5 on the year, which is good for fifth in the conference. The Longhorns on the other hand just absolutely demolished Kansas by a score of 55-14 thanks to another ridiculous game from running back Bijan Robinson.
Let’s dive into the Baylor vs Texas odds and find the best bets for Friday’s rivalry game.

Texas heads into this encounter as an 8.5-point home favorite with steep moneyline odds of -305. Baylor comes back at college football odds of +240. The total is set at 56.

The Longhorns have won three straight against the Bears and five of their last seven overall in the matchup. However, Baylor did beat them 31-24 in the 2021 season.
Baylor Looking to Finish on a High Note
The Bears’ record might not look great, but they’ve been handed some gut-wrenching losses this year. The one to TCU was one of the worst of the lot. Baylor truly kept up with the Horned Frogs all game long but ended up falling on a walk-off field goal, allowing nine points in the final 2:07 of the fourth quarter.

Dave Aranda’s group had 501 total yards to just 442 for TCU but it didn’t matter. There were some clear positive takeaways, though. Blake Shapen was 21 for 30 for 269 yards, linking up with wideout Monaray Baldwin six times. The backfield also had a day, with RB Craig Williams rushing for an average of 5.9 yards per carry. Richard Reese did his part on the ground, too.
The offense can produce. The key to winning this game is stopping Robinson, the electric back of Texas. The Baylor run defense is by no means elite. It’ll be a tough task here.
Texas Will Rely on Bijan
The Longhorns played great in Week 12 and their quarterback Quinn Ewers threw for only 107 yards. That just goes to show how much Steve Sarkisian’s team relies on Robinson, who is a surefire star at the next level. The running back went off against the Jayhawks, tearing apart their defense.

He ran for a whopping 243 yards (9.7 yards per carry) and four touchdowns. Robinson has now rushed for 16 scores in 2022. There is no doubt Texas will be relying on him to do serious damage once again on Friday. If Ewers is struggling to find completions, expect the ball to be in Robinson’s hands even more. The Longhorns are going to try and expose one of Baylor’s biggest weaknesses.
Baylor vs Texas Prediction
While I do believe Texas will win this one, there is one obvious bet here to lock in: The under. It’s been comfortably hit in the last nine meetings between the Bears and Longhorns. Believe in the trends.
