The sixth-ranked Georgia Bulldogs (2-0, 0-2-0 ATS) and Tennessee Volunteers (2-0, 2-0-0 ATS) have ripped through their non-conference schedule, and the SEC rivals will meet in one of the most anticipated games in Week 3.

The college football odds have the visitors handling their business on the road, but the books are moving with some caution due to a number of variables, which we’ll discuss below.

Action gets underway Saturday at 3:30 pm ET from Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, TN, with ABC carrying the broadcast.

Georgia vs Tennessee Odds

Georgia is the 3.5-point road favorite, and a short -162 on the moneyline, while Tennessee sits at +136 to win outright at home, while the total sits at 50.5 points.

Georgia vs Tennessee Line Movement

There’s been some major movement on the spread, where the Bulldogs were favored by as many as seven points as late as Sunday morning, before gradually moving down and settling at around 3.5 points for most books.

You can’t point to one glaring issue that’s popped up, but a variety of factors have caused the line drop, including Georgia’s less-than-impressive final score in Week 2’s win over FCS-level competition Austin Peay, taking it 28-6.

You can also count the standout early play of Tennessee pivot Joey Aguilar, who’s coming off a 72-17 shredding of East Tennessee State. In two games — albeit against less-than-marquee opposition — Aguilar has thrown for 535 yards and five TDs against no interceptions.

His numbers are stronger than Bulldogs’ QB Gunner Stockton, who happens to be a Top 7 candidate in the early 2025 Heisman Trophy odds.

Are the books thinking a little too deeply about this one? Consider that Georgia has dominated this head-to-head, winning each of the last seven, with the closest margin of victory a distant 14 points.

The Bulldogs have also gone 8-2-0 against the spread in the last 10 matchups.

Early Georgia vs Tennessee Prediction

• Pick: Georgia -3.5 (-105 at DraftKings)

The Kirby Smart era in Georgia has faced little resistance against the Volunteers.

His Bulldogs have only dropped one decision against their SEC rivals since he took the reins in 2016, and it was in his first year that Tennessee last tasted victory.

One other note that’s caused the books to tread lightly: Stockton will be making his first road start as the team’s starting QB. Neyland Stadium can be a daunting venue, especially if he gets off to a shaky start.

It’s so early, so it’s hard to tell what’s real or not, but Georgia’s dominance in this head-to-head is substantial.

Their power defense, currently second in the SEC in total yards and first in points allowed, has the best chance to stand up to the Vols’ top-ranked yards per game and scoring offense.

Barring any major injuries, this line has done most of its movement already, so if you wanted to bet the Volunteers, here’s hoping you got that ticket in with all those extra points on the weekend.
