Here’s the breakdown of each leg in my Miami vs Ole Miss same-game parlay:

Ole Miss ML (+136)

I’m riding the underdog in this Fiesta Bowl same-game parlay. I picked them to beat Georgia, and I believe Ole Miss has the right ingredients to take down Miami.

Clearly, it’s chaos in Oxford right now, with Lane Kiffin gone, some of the coaching staff gone, some doing double duty coaching both at LSU and Ole Miss (weird), but Ole Miss has thrived in the chaos.

I think the combination of Chambliss and star running back Kewan Lacy (1,464 yards and 23 TD) gives that Miami defense just enough reason to back off.

There’s another spot where Ole Miss has a decisive edge: kicker. Rebels kicker Lucas Carneiro has missed one kick since Halloween and made two from 50+ in the Sugar Bowl. Hurricanes kicker Carter Davis missed three kicks against Texas A&M in the first round. If it comes down to the end, I like Ole Miss’ chances here.

Under 53.5 (-118)

Teams don’t get this far in the CFP without some defensive stars, and I just don’t see many points in this Miami vs. Ole Miss matchup. I think we saw a lot of points in the Ole Miss/Georgia game because it was a rematch, and both teams knew where to attack.

Miami went 5-9 over/under this season, and Ole Miss 8-6.

But Miami’s last three games have all hit the under. Two of the last three for Ole Miss have also hit the under. I think it matters that both teams have had a relatively short week to prepare for this Fiesta Bowl same-game parlay scenario. I think that matters.

Miami QB Carson Beck has 3,313 yards and 27 touchdowns, but he’s asked to manage the game more than anything else and let the Miami defense do its thing. That defense has 46 sacks in 14 games, but I think Chambliss can make some plays and stay away from the Canes.

Toney’s main spot is at wide receiver. He’s got a team-high 94 grabs for 1,008 yards and eight TDs. He also runs back kicks. He’s a game-breaker for Miami, and I expect to see him in the end zone tonight, completing this same-game parlay.
