Ole Miss vs Georgia Prop Pick: Kewan Lacy Rushing Yards

This may not be the Bulldogs’ defense of earlier this decade, but Kirby Smart’s stop unit can still get after opposing backs. Georgia held Kewan Lacy to a season low 31 yards on 12 carries in the first Ole Miss vs Georgia matchup, and should be able to contain the banged-up Rebels back once again.

Lacy suffered a sprained AC joint in his shoulder in Ole Miss’ first-round victory over Tulane. While he and the team are certain Lacy is “good to go” one big hit could be enough to knock him out of the Sugar Bowl altogether.

Georgia ranked seventh in EPA per rush this season, and with the Rebels’ usual play-caller now plying his trade in Louisiana, I don’t trust the Ole Miss offense in this one. After all, the Bulldogs held opposing backs to just 3 yards per carry and surrendered only 82 rushing yards per game. Fade Lacy’s 66.5 rushing yardage prop.

  • Pick: Kewan Lacy under 66.5 rushing yards (-114)

Ole Miss vs Georgia Prop Pick: Gunner Stockton Rushing Yards

As 6.5-point favorites in the Sugar Bowl, Georgia is likely to control the tempo. That means churning out yards on the ground with their consistent rushing attack. The Bulldogs may not wow you with explosive runs, but they averaged 4.5 yards per carry and run the football at one of the highest rates in the country (57%).

Which will see quarterback Gunner Stockton keep the ball on the zone-read plays the Bulldogs love to use to throw off defenses. Stockton ran for 59 yards and a touchdown against Ole Miss earlier this season, and with a top-15 0.22 EPA per play on quarterback-designed runs, will be a part of the gameplan once again.

Georgia runs about 15% of their rushing plays through their quarterback, which should see Stockton get plenty of carries on Thursday night. With Ole Miss focused on shutting down Bulldogs back Nate Frazier, Stockton will have plenty of room to roam. Back Gunner Stockton to exceed his 42.5 rushing yardage prop in the Sugar Bowl.

  • Pick: Gunner Stockton over 42.5 rushing yards (-114)
